Today I'm introducing a tonkatsu spot near Magok Station!! Katsuryun ~~ I really liked the clean, stylish vibe of this place.
It's a nice spot for a date, and there's a window-facing solo seat so it'd be great for eating alone too! It already seemed to be pretty famous as a lunch spot for Magok office workers haha. Parking is available too, so it'd be good for family meals as well. I'll review it in detail with photos below-!

Once you see this, you've arrived~~

Inside Katsuryun: wood-toned room and window solo seats
Here's the feel of Katsuryun's interior~ Super clean, right? It's my favorite wood tone, so it felt stylish yet cozy. There were seats facing the window, which I loved haha. Good for a date and good for eating solo too!

Pink salt was set out at the table. Water came in a bottle! There was a kiosk at the table so we could order and pay right away 👍👍

Katsuryun menu and prices
Ordering first!! Slide the menu sideways to check it out ~~ Take part in the review event and get shrimp katsu for ₩500!! Join in and grab that shrimp katsu 👀
We ordered the sirloin katsu (₩12,000) and pork loin katsu (₩14,000)~~ I didn't try it, but the curry seemed to be a popular menu item too! I'll have to try the curry next time haha.

When you tap the katsu menu, there's an explanation too~~ Pork, chicken, and rice are all domestic!!!! They use domestic Korean pork 😮 What surprised me was the Tori-katsu!! It's made by hand-butchering chicken breast meat and cooking it, which is said to bring out moist texture and umami. Since it's chicken breast meat, I thought it might be a great option for people on a diet haha.

What comes with it: side dishes and salad
After a short wait, the katsu arrived ~~ 😍😍

This looks so good •• 🤤❤️

At Katsuryun, the tonkatsu sauce, side dishes, salt, rice, soup, and salad all come the same way! What surprised me was that the pickled radish had bonito flakes on it?!? A flavor you can only get here haha. The pepper was a bit spicy but tasty ~~

The salad is fresh and light with yuzu dressing.
Loin katsu vs tenderloin katsu: which one to order
My mom and I shared the sirloin and the pork loin haha.

Let's start with the sirloin~~ My favorite combo when eating tonkatsu!! Dipping it in wasabi and salt is so clean and delicious 😍

Dipping it in tonkatsu sauce too haha. The katsu was super tender.

Next, let's try my beloved pork loin!! This is seriously~~~~ so tender it just melts in your mouth!! They said the Korean pork loin is cooked medium-rare ~~

That rosy pink color is insane .. it's holding all that juice haha.

This one too with salt and wasabi ~~ crispy outside, juicy inside, exactly like that 🤤🤤🤤

Hahaha my mom and I told each other we ate so well and it was delicious.

If you're looking for a good restaurant in Magok or near Seoul Botanic Park, I recommend Katsuryun 🥰❤️
