Namyangju dog café with an indoor playroom: Saranghao Dalkomhage

While looking for somewhere to spend time indoors with my dog, I visited Saranghao Dalkomhage (사랑하오 달콤하개), a dog café in Pyeongnae-dong, Namyangju. It was a playroom where my dog could step away from our usual walking route, take in new smells, and meet other dogs.

What were the indoor playroom and floor like?

When I entered, plenty of sunlight made the interior bright, so it did not feel cramped. Everything was generally neat, and the dogs' play area was separate from the café seating area for guardians.

The play area floor was covered with non-slip mats. Seeing the dogs move relatively steadily as they ran and changed direction put me at ease.

How did my dog do in an unfamiliar space?

My dog was cautious and looked around at first. After a while, my dog slowly wandered around sniffing, watched the other dogs play, and rested in a spot they liked.

As my dog is older, they did not keep running around, but spent time exploring the new space at their own pace. I felt it would be best to use the space without overdoing it, based on each dog's personality and condition. My dog also rested comfortably after we got home.

Could guardians relax comfortably too?

In the café area, I could enjoy a drink while watching my dog play nearby. There was also a varied drink selection. While my dog explored the space, I could take a short break too.

Since several dogs use the space together, I looked at how it was maintained, and it was generally well organized. I also got the impression that the dogs were being watched attentively.

Is it suitable even when the weather is poor?

I liked that, as an indoor playroom, it is less affected by the weather. I thought it could be somewhere to spend time with a dog on rainy days or days with severe fine dust, when an outdoor walk is difficult. In seasons when heat or cold shortens walks, dogs can move around indoors and get a change of pace.

What conditions should you check before visiting?

Saranghao Dalkomhage is described as a space for dogs under 15 kg. Before visiting, it is best to check your dog's eligibility, vaccination-related requirements, usage rules, and operating hours again through its official channels. As this is a shared space with other dogs, basic etiquette should also be observed.
