Namyangju dog café for after-work ball play: Saranghao Dalkomhage

When the weather was still hot, I went to Saranghao Dalkomhage & Dog Daycare Cafe (사랑하오 달콤하개&애견유치원 카페) in Pyeongnae-dong, Namyangju, with a friend and our dogs. We were looking for somewhere they could run around indoors, and we could use both its spacious playroom and café area for a meal.

Where is Saranghao Dalkomhage, and is parking available?

The café is on the second floor of the building at 165 Pyeongnae-ro, across from the Pyeongnae Sports and Cultural Center. I visited in my friend's car. The parking lot is behind the building entrance, and the café's large windows were visible from outside.

The hours listed in the original post are 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM on weekdays and 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM on weekends. Since it also runs dog daycare and boarding, I read the rules before going in.

Is it comfortable to eat with your dog?

The interior felt clean and pleasant. There was also a lint roller by the entrance for removing fur from clothes. The café and playroom were divided by large windows, which made the space feel more open.

There was a space right next to the café tables where dogs could stay, which was convenient while eating. I did not have to keep mine in my arms or on a chair. There was also a small table-like surface in front that looked useful for setting down dog treats.

What are the indoor playroom floor and dog supplies like?

The playroom is immediately to the right of the entrance. After checking the rules, I changed into indoor slippers before entering. The slippers felt cushioned, and dog water was set out right in front of the playroom.

The playroom was quite spacious, and sunlight came in well through the large window along one wall. The entire floor was non-slip, and the chairs for guardians were low. Mongsil would climb onto my lap while playing, so I especially liked the low chairs.

Diapers were provided free of charge, including any extras we needed. Toys for the dogs were organized in the playroom, and the dog who came with us wandered around sniffing here and there.

What did I eat at the café?

The menu included bingsu (shaved ice dessert), drinks, rice dishes, noodle dishes, snacks, and beer. There was also a snack corner by the drink pickup counter, though I did not have anything from it.

I changed the misutgaru (multigrain powder drink) to almond milk and had ham and cheese toast and ham double cheese toast. Each toast came in two pieces. I found the ham double cheese toast saltier and more savory. It was filling with the misutgaru.

Did my dog enjoy an after-work weekday visit?

When I visited after work on a weekday, there were no other dogs besides the ones we had brought, which was a little disappointing for me. Mongsil seemed more comfortable, though, and found a toy ball she liked and played with it from the moment we entered until we left.

She chased the ball for over an hour, and whenever she paused, she looked at it as if asking me to throw it again. We had not been able to go on many outings beyond walks during the hot weather, so it was nice to see her run around indoors to her heart's content.

I wiped away tears that ran while she played with tear wipes provided to one side. With its spacious indoor playroom, I thought it would also be a good place to spend time with a dog on a rainy day. For me, it was a convenient visit because there was somewhere for my dog to stay while I ate, and supplies such as diapers and water were available.
