Choi Main Branch (초이 본점) is a large bakery café with Nakdong River views in Hopo, Dongmyeon, Yangsan, Gyeongnam. On a weekday afternoon with a mom in a leg cast, the writer used the elevator, which serves every floor, to reach the 2nd floor and the rooftop, drank decaf café mochas over views of the Nakdong River, Geumjeong Mountain and the railway, then took the bread to go, paying ₩24,500 in total. For anyone bringing parents with limited mobility to a river-view café, Choi Main Branch is an easy, low-stress choice.

Daebyeon Port sashimi restaurant: Chuseok course for 2 at Namhang

Namhang Hoetjip (남항횟집) is a sashimi and anchovy restaurant right in front of Daebyeon Port in Gijang, Busan. Over the Chuseok holiday, the writer, her mom, her husband and her 5-year-old ordered the Namhang Course for 2 plus a small plate of gizzard shad sashimi. The meal included mulhoe (cold raw fish soup), abalone sashimi, assorted sashimi, conger eel sashimi, grilled anchovies and anchovy stew. Namhang Hoetjip is a generous Daebyeon Port pick that satisfies a family even when everyone likes different raw fish.

Truffle gnocchi for non-fans at a Gijang outlet restaurant: Bueokgan

Bueokgan Restaurant, Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets is a European restaurant on the first floor of the outlet's NORTH wing in Gijang, Busan. On Chuseok day, the writer's family ordered seafood tomato pasta, truffle mushroom gnocchi and lasagna for lunch with their child, and although the writer doesn't usually enjoy truffle, the truffle mushroom gnocchi was the standout dish. For families with kids looking for a Western meal in Gijang, Bueokgan is a better choice than expected.
