Choi Main Branch in Hopo, Yangsan: a weekday afternoon with mom
Choi Main Branch (초이 본점) is a large bakery café in Hopo, Yangsan. I took my mom there on the afternoon of Monday, October 12, 2026. We'd had a meal and wanted to relax over coffee.

The place used to be a Haewoldang café, so it felt familiar, but the owner has changed and the interior is a little different now.

As you'd expect from a big Hopo café, the space is still roomy and pleasant, and the view is as good as ever.

The weather was great that day too, and the moment the Nakdong River came into view, mom loved it 💕
Is parking and getting to Choi Main Branch easy?
The building has above-ground and underground parking, so parking is easy, and it's near Hopo Station, which makes it a nice drive-out café from Busan. It's open daily 09:00–21:50 (year-round, last order 21:20), with an elevator, takeout, high chairs and a rooftop.
When you look for cafés near Busan, some make you hesitate because parking is a hassle. Being a big café, Choi Main Branch has roomy, comfortable parking. When we visited, there was space right in front of the shop, so we parked easily and walked in 🚗
Views from Choi Main Branch: Nakdong River, Geumjeong Mountain and the railway
Choi Main Branch is a river-view café with the Nakdong River in front and Geumjeong Mountain National Park behind. The first thing I noticed when I stepped in was, of course, the wide-open view.

The Nakdong River stretches out refreshingly in front, and nature continues into Geumjeong Mountain National Park behind, which gives it a different charm from a city café.

Add trains passing over the railway tracks running along both sides, and just sitting there watching felt so relaxing.

The 2nd floor is lovely, but thanks to the clear autumn weather, the open Nakdong River view from the rooftop was truly a work of art. Mom loved the scenery, which made me so proud!
Can you bring parents in casts? Choi Main Branch has elevators to every floor
An elevator connects every floor of Choi Main Branch, so you can reach the 2nd floor and the rooftop without stairs. This was the best part of this visit.

Mom currently has a cast on her leg, so going up and down stairs isn't easy. But at Choi Main Branch we could take the elevator comfortably to the 2nd floor and all the way up to the rooftop.

Thanks to that, mom could enjoy a different view on each floor without any strain.
The Choi Main Branch rooftop, the highlight of the day
My favorite space at Choi Main Branch was, hands down, the rooftop. The Nakdong River view from the rooftop on a clear autumn afternoon was the highlight of this visit.

The weather was really good that day! The sky was clear and the view wide open, so the Nakdong River felt even more refreshing.

Looking out at that open view, I somehow felt more relaxed too.

Mom absolutely loved the rooftop view 💛 If you're looking for a Yangsan café with a great Nakdong River view, don't miss the rooftop at Choi Main Branch! 📸
Choi Main Branch menu and prices: decaf café mocha and bread to go
At Choi Main Branch we ordered two decaf café mochas and three breads, and paid ₩24,500 in total. Here's what we got.
- Cheese ciabatta ₩4,200
- Bulgogi croquette ₩3,800
- Choi rice cake ₩2,500
- Decaf café mocha, 2 cups ₩14,000
- Total paid ₩24,500

We'd come after a hearty lunch, so I asked for the bread to go so mom could eat it at home, and we just enjoyed a relaxing cup of coffee! ☕

Later, when mom ate the bread at home, she said it was soft and nutty and really delicious.
Choi Main Branch: a Hopo café I'd return to with my parents
With elevators on every floor, Choi in Hopo is about as easy as it gets for visiting with elderly relatives or parents.

An open Nakdong River view, a nostalgic railway scene, and tasty bakery and coffee: if you want a Yangsan café where all three come together perfectly, I recommend stopping by Choi Main Branch! ❤️
