In short
Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch is a wood-toned roastery café near Gyeongui Line Forest Park, between Daeheung Station and Gongdeok Station in Mapo, Seoul. On a hot day we ordered a lemonade, a mango orange juice and a plain Basque cake topped with cream: the lemonade was not too sweet, the juice had a rich fruit flavor and the Basque cake was dense. Today I visited Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch, a lovely café by Gyeongui Line Forest Park ~ It's such a calm, healing spot that I want to recommend it to anyone looking for a pretty café near Gongdeok or the park!! And the desserts and drinks were both great, so I was even happier ~

Where is Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch, and is there parking?
Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch is at 9 Baekbeom-ro 24-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, on the 1st floor, on the Gyeongui Line Forest Park side near Daeheung Station. It's also close to Gongdeok Station, so it's very easy to get to. There's no dedicated parking, so I'd recommend a nearby public car park.
It's a pet-friendly café, so it's perfect for dropping in during a walk along the park, and it's also a good date spot. I think that's why it seems to get a lot of people on weekends!

What's the atmosphere like at Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch?
The inside is a clean, wood-toned interior throughout. Even though it was a cloudy day, it was a total "good-vibes" aesthetic café!
There are big floor-to-ceiling windows, so I bet the natural light is wonderful on a sunny day. It's comfortable for chatting, so it'd be great for a date, and the quiet mood looks good for working alone and concentrating too~ You can also tell the owner put real care into the interior, which makes it feel even cozier haha

Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch menu and drip bag discount
The signature menu is the almond latte, cream almond and basil milk tea, and the seasonal menu has a plum granita, a summer crumble affogato and basil tomato juice. As a roastery café, it has a wide range of coffees and quite a lot of non-coffee drinks too, so it's easy to choose to your taste.
They also have desserts that go well with coffee, like walnut pecan chocolate chip cookies, egg financiers and plain Basque cake, which made it an even better place to linger! You can also buy drip bags, and buying 3 or more gets you 10% off. Coffee lovers, take note~

Non-coffee drinks for a hot day: lemonade and mango orange juice
We ordered a mango orange juice, a lemonade and a plain Basque cake!! Honestly, I agonized over the drinks for quite a while, haha ugh. It was hot out, so we ended up going with something cold! And I did not regret that decision at all ~~

Lemonade: not too sweet, with gentle fizz
🍋 The lemonade at Ieo Coffee Roasters wasn't harshly carbonated, so it was pleasantly tangy and refreshing, and since it wasn't very sweet it tasted even better!! It was cool, went well with dessert, and I drank it very happily.

Mango orange juice: rich, fruity flavor
The mango orange juice had a stronger fruit flavor than I expected, which I loved!! You might wonder if that means it tastes artificial, but it doesn't. The tang and sweetness blend just right, so it's very easy to drink 🤍

What is the plain Basque cake like?
The plain Basque at Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch is a Basque cheesecake-style cake with a dense, fudgy texture, served topped with cream. It was really the right dessert to pick, and that dense texture was totally my taste T_T
They topped it with cream too, so it felt even richer, and I think it tasted better because the outside is slightly deep in flavor while the inside is soft haha. All the things we ordered were nicely balanced, so it was a great combo to eat slowly while chatting ~ Next time I have to try the plain Basque with coffee!! Which is to say, I'm definitely coming back.

A café to stop at on a Gyeongui Line Forest Park walk

Highly recommended as a café with a great atmosphere 👍 I especially recommend it as a stop during a walk, so I hope you all go check it out~
