I came for dinner, and even that night the tables were already packed with company dinners and get-togethers. If you're planning dinner in Baebang, I'd reserve a room ahead of time. Parking is easy, the aged meat is good quality, and the doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) is unlimited, so it's perfect for drinks too, which is probably why evenings get busier.

Besides a slide, the playroom has all kinds of games and claw machines. 🎠 We're past playroom age so I only looked from outside, but it's big and looked clean, so it seems great for kids. 🛝 The feeling of a child who wants to go in 🎵🎶 It's surprisingly hard to find a restaurant with a playroom, right? Well done, Hanmaeum in Baebang 👏

Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Asan Baebang branch has a separate aging fridge you can look at, which makes you trust and look forward to the meat even more 🤤 Both beef and pork wait it out in the aging fridge, so the flavor is better. Mood: up up 🆙

How does the unlimited doenjang-jjigae work?

The self-bar at Hanmaeum Jeongyuk has tofu, zucchini and doenjang-jjigae broth for refills, so you can boil up as much tasty stew as you like! The broth is spicy and keeps you coming back for more 🍲 and it goes great with the meat!

🥬 Vegetables, side dishes, lettuce, scissors, tongs and tableware are all there too, so you can just grab whatever you need!

Which cuts come in the 600g mixed beef set?

The mixed beef set (소고기모듬) at Hanmaeum Jeongyuk comes with five cuts totaling 600g: jin galbi-sal (prime rib finger meat), galbi-sal (rib meat), bone-in short rib, fan steak and thinly sliced brisket (usamgyeop). I couldn't decide which beef cut to pick, so I ordered the mixed set.

Raw bone-in short rib and brisket

Sizzling beef cooking away 🥩 The sound of it grilling made me wonder which cut would be best. Grilling bone-in short rib raw was kind of new to me. While looking forward to gnawing on the ribs, and while the galbi-sal and fan steak cooked, I quickly went nom nom on the brisket first 😋 Savory brisket, chomp chomp, with a tender bite that was excellent 👍

With the savory, spicy doenjang-jjigae and the pleasantly salty-sweet, zesty 🌶️ pickled chili, I ate mouthful after mouthful. Eating it together with the stew made it even more filling and delicious.

Jjolmyeon comes as a basic side dish here

At Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Asan Baebang branch, jjolmyeon (chewy spicy noodles) comes out as a basic side dish. Suddenly they brought us jjolmyeon?! We asked, "We didn't order this?" and they told us jjolmyeon is a standard side here!!

Slurp the noodles first, and the vegetables are just right with the meat, right?! Meat and a spicy-sweet gochujang (chili paste) sauce really go together 🎵🎶
