Tree-view pasta restaurant in Dunsan-dong: steak pappardelle, Plate

I loved my earlier visit to the Plate in Seonhwa-dong so much that this time I tried 👉 Plate Dunsan Branch, near Galleria! Conclusion first... personally, I liked it even more than the Eunhaeng branch because of the atmosphere 😆

Where is Plate Dunsan Branch and how is parking?

Plate Dunsan Branch is on the 2nd floor of a building 1-2 minutes on foot from Galleria Time World. It's a perfect spot for shopping and then a meal 😊

Building parking is available, and I was told they cover 1 hour! (The staff said it's ₩1,000 per extra hour, but the sign in the elevator says ₩1,500 per 30 minutes, so I'd recommend checking with the restaurant 😂)

How is the Plate Dunsan Branch atmosphere different from the Eunhaeng branch?

Plate Dunsan Branch is on the 2nd floor, and if the Eunhaeng branch felt cozy, the Dunsan branch is, in a word, far classier and more stylish.

Welcome in~~ There are baby chairs too~ On the left there are seats that look great for group gatherings, and the wall has a stylish liquor display~!

The lush green view of the trees by the window was so pretty 🌳 Shortly after we sat down at the window, all the window seats filled up! No wonder couples come here, haha. If you're looking for a Dunsan-dong date spot, I really recommend it!

There was a fridge in one corner and I could see meat aging inside!! The steak must be so good!!

How to order at Plate Dunsan Branch and the ₩4,000 set

The table is all set, and Plate's plates are so pretty! They also give you chopsticks, which is great (though of course I only used the spoon and fork, lol)

On your first visit, the staff explain how to order! You pick the pasta you want, and being able to choose the noodle type yourself is Plate's biggest advantage, I think! And when ordering, adding ₩4,000 upgrades you to a set, and I highly recommend one set for two!

• Bushman bread (a dark, soft bread loaf)

You get all this for ₩4,000, so definitely add it, lol. Best value around 👍

They have a pizza menu now too~? Actually, last time I went for fresh pasta but ended up eating gnocchi and lasagna, lol, so I missed out. This time I went in thinking "Today I'm definitely having fresh noodles!" and ordered these:

• Buldak drumstick rosé pasta (changed to spinach noodles)
• Steak cream pasta (pappardelle)

The set: bushman bread, salad and soup

Not long after ordering, the set came out first 😊

The bushman bread is delicious dipped in fresh cream and also dunked in the soup 😭 Halfway through I suddenly thought, "A mango spread would make this perfect!" lol

The salad was fresh and the soup was a perfect appetizer!

How does the pappardelle steak cream pasta taste?

The steak cream pasta at Plate Dunsan Branch has thick fresh pappardelle that soaks up the rich cream sauce, and the steak was very tender. Totally my taste!

The steak cream pasta came out first! The staff told us, "It's fresh pasta, so please eat quickly~" 😊 Being fresh noodles, they were thick and soaked up so much sauce! Paired with the rich cream sauce, it's the best... And the steak was so tender 😳

Remember the fridge where the meat was aging? I wondered if that careful aging is why it tasted even better, lol. The sauce was generous too, so I enjoyed it to the very end!

How spicy is the buldak drumstick rosé pasta?

The buldak drumstick rosé pasta at Plate Dunsan Branch comes with a whole chicken drumstick, which is impressive just to look at, and it's spicier than you'd expect. It was perfect to alternate with the cream pasta.

And here comes the buldak drumstick rosé pasta!

A whole drumstick sits on top, so they gave us tongs and scissors, lol. A menu like this is definitely... 👉 one to order when my husband is around 😆 He debones it and I just eat in comfort, hahaha

It was spicier than I expected, so it was perfect to alternate with the cream pasta! The chicken was very tender and went so well with the rosé sauce 👍

Actually, the noodles seemed to be the default recommended tagliatelle rather than the spinach spaghetti I ordered, but it looked tasty so I just ate it, lol. And it was really good. There's a reason it's the recommended noodle.. haha!!

I highly recommend this two-dish combo! We alternated between them and enjoyed it so much, haha. Both pastas have meat, though, so I really craved pickles, lol.

Anyway, I left super satisfied :) When I paid, I also noticed there are tons of charging cables!!

Plate Dunsan Branch: final thoughts

• Highly recommended as a Dunsan-dong date spot
• Right next to Galleria, so easy to get to
• The fresh pasta is really good
• The set is the best value
• The window tree view is wonderful 🌿
• Personally, I liked the atmosphere even more than the Eunhaeng branch!
