Hi, this is Aegaemyomom 🐱🐶👶 Today I tried the famous garlic bread snack at Gugyeong Market. When you come to Danyang, you tend to look for garlic bread or other local specialties, and this was a great stop for a snack or a gift!

Danppang Bakery hours and where to park in Danyang

• ⏰ Open daily 10:30 AM – 9:00 PM, last order 7:30 PM
• ✔ Bread comes out after 10:30 AM, and they close early once ingredients run out!
• 📍 36 Dojeon 4-gil, Danyang-eup, Danyang-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea
• 🚘 There's a free lot in front of the market, but it's small, so parking at Danyang Aquarium is recommended!

Parking was tough, so I'd recommend parking at the aquarium and walking over to the market instead. The garlic smell reaches you from far away... it's no joke haha. It put me in such a good mood!! The display case had bread that looked freshly baked, all neatly arranged, and looking them over one by one, I had a hard time deciding which to pick haha. That smell — you really can't not buy something haha.

How busy is Gugyeong Market on a Friday afternoon?

Garlic bread you can only get in Danyang... the look of it is already amazing. Starting with the cream one, there were so many kinds. We visited on a Friday, and even though it was a weekday, there were so, so many people. We deliberately went in the afternoon, and it stayed crowded the entire time. Weekends must be even busier — keep that in mind when you visit!

It's apparently been on TV a ton. The moment I saw this, I was convinced... there was no way this wasn't going to be delicious.

Tasting the samples: original vs. the signature cream cheese garlic bread

They let me sample really generously, and every single one was so good. As for me, of course, the original... it was so delicious.

Check the menu board before you buy — cream cheese garlic bread (크림치즈마늘빵) is the signature item!

Their hand movements were incredible... how do they pipe the cream so evenly? Haha, they were selling like crazy, and the bread came out like clockwork. Seeing all that cream, I thought it would be amazing with coffee.

Gift set packaging and buying two loaves

They pack the bread this way, and the gift sets with individually wrapped pieces were selling like crazy. Honestly, Paris Baguette's garlic bread doesn't even compare... the look of it is amazing. And the bread is big — one piece alone would probably fill you up.

They packed everything up neatly, and since buying just one felt too little, we bought two. My mom said it was delicious too and didn't hesitate to buy another one right away. That smell... I still think about it, haha.

Eating it at the hotel and at home: 3 minutes in the air fryer

We ate one happily at the hotel and had the other one after coming home. If it gets too cold, reheating it in the air fryer for about 3 minutes makes it taste amazing again. The cream was packed in between the layers everywhere, so delicious, and clearly a bread that doesn't skimp on ingredients haha. I'll definitely eat this again next time I go to Danyang.
