Chef Cho Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam is a handmade cake shop on B1 of Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam. The showcase had a good spread: chocolate cake, strawberry cake, mango cake, sando cake (layered sandwich-style cake) and slice cakes.

True to its reputation as a Shinsegae Gangnam cake spot, the second I arrived I was greeted by cakes that looked delicious and high-end T_T Wait, what is this cake quality....? The tempting, elegant details caught my eye the moment I saw them!

For chocolate lovers, there's a chocolate cake 🤎 that looks packed with sweetness.

Then there's the strawberry cake, which has become a signature, topped with peaches that are in season right now!!! Loads of summer peaches 🍑,, you can really feel they don't skimp on ingredients T_T That's the charm of a handmade cake ✨

Another seasonal fruit, mango 🥭 A pretty, tempting mango cake piled high with mango also caught my eye. It really showed me again how popular Chef Cho is as a Shinsegae Gangnam cake shop!

I picked up a whole cake at Chef Cho Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam, and the staff asked how long my trip would be and, taking the weather into account, put in an ice pack.

I picked up a sweet, soft whole cake 🎂 and the staff asked about my travel time, then carefully packed an ice pack based on the weather, plus candles and a knife..! So kind, this Shinsegae Gangnam cake shop, Chef Cho ✨

How does the Chef Cho strawberry cake look?

What I picked up at Chef Cho was a strawberry cake topped with both strawberries and seasonal peaches. The fruit sat prettily on top of soft, sweet fresh cream.

Piled with crisp, sweet peaches and strawberries, this fruit cake felt like one everyone can enjoy, whatever their gender or age, kids included.

Loads of peaches on top too,, 🍑 This Shinsegae Gangnam Chef Cho cake is generously topped. The cake looks so pretty that you need nothing else, just one plain candle and the mood is complete 👍🏻

It's just so pretty... 100% satisfied 🥹

How does Chef Cho cake taste?

Thanks to the dairy-based fresh cream, the Chef Cho cake melts softly the moment it hits your mouth, and the sponge was moist. It wasn't too sweet, just a moderate sweetness.

So how does it taste???? The moment I took a bite of this Chef Cho cake, I was moved 🥹 First, the sweet, soft fresh cream... 🤍 Thanks to the dairy-based cream, it melts softly and sweetly as soon as it's in your mouth. The soft, sweet flavor of the cream fills your mouth, not too sweet but just right, with an elegant sweetness, and the cake sponge, the bread!! It was really moist and soft. I wondered how anyone can make sponge this moist and soft 👍🏻

And inside, peaches and strawberries are hiding too, so the sweetness comes with fresh, tangy fruit,, I got to enjoy a fresh, sweet, refreshing fruit cake!!! It's definitely worth the money~ exactly that feeling T_T It was truly the cake of my life 🎂
