Cheonan Terminal hair salon: Ayunchae clinic and hand pack, CHOP Hair

In short

CHOP Hair Cheonan Branch is a hair salon on the 3rd floor of Terminal Plaza in Sinbu-dong, Cheonan, across from the express bus terminal. The writer, whose curls get worse every summer, had the Ayunchae (아윤채) clinic to care for her hair before a volume magic straightening. The clinic went step by step through cleansing, moisture, protein and cuticle care, with coffee, snacks and a hand pack served along the way. After the Ayunchae clinic the frizz was gone and her hair felt soft and light, so CHOP Hair Cheonan Branch is worth recommending to anyone who wants damaged-hair care and a relaxing salon visit.

My first salon after moving to Cheonan: CHOP Hair Cheonan Branch

This time I'm not bringing you a restaurant review but a clinic review! CHOP Hair Cheonan Branch was the first salon I visited after moving to Cheonan, so I was a little nervous and a little excited. It turned out to be really satisfying, so I want to share it with you.

Where is CHOP Hair Cheonan Branch?

CHOP Hair Cheonan Branch is on the 3rd floor of the building next to Moon Tower (Terminal Plaza), across from the Cheonan express bus terminal. It's easy to reach, so public transport works fine too.

Price list at the entrance and a spacious waiting area

Take the elevator to the 3rd floor and the salon is right there. The best part for me was that a price list is posted in front of the entrance. At a salon you sometimes worry about unexpected extra charges once the consultation starts, right? Being able to check prices beforehand made visiting stress-free.

The inside was clean and pleasant too. The waiting area is large, so anyone who comes with you can wait comfortably. It looked like they run a membership as well, which could be a nice perk for regulars.

Why I had the Ayunchae clinic before magic straightening

My hair gets really frizzy and curly every summer, so before getting a magic straightening I wanted to take care of my hair condition first. That's why I chose the Ayunchae (아윤채) clinic at CHOP Hair Cheonan Branch. Ladies, you'll get this: a salon day feels like a special healing day. Even when I'm busy the rest of the time, this day feels like time fully for myself, so I was extra excited.

I washed my hair in the morning before coming, so we started the treatment as soon as I arrived.

What are the steps of the Ayunchae clinic?

Step 1: Clinic shampoo and heavy metal removal

The Ayunchae clinic began at the shampoo station with a light cleanse using a clinic-only shampoo. Then they removed leftover chemical residue, heavy metals and so on from my hair, explaining that the clinic ingredients absorb better after this step. Honestly, I'd never heard of this process before, but once it was explained I understood why it matters.

Right after shampooing, my hair was clearly quite damaged. My last volume magic was last summer, so the ends looked especially dry and rough.

Step 2: Moisture clinic, about 7 minutes without steam

Next was the moisture clinic. The product has very fine particles, so they said it absorbs without any steam, and we waited about 7 minutes to let it soak in fully.

Step 3: Protein care with steam

After that came the protein care step, and from here steam was added too. Each step took roughly 10–15 minutes, I think, and it felt like they were filling my hair with the nutrition it needed one by one.

They also brought coffee and snacks in the middle, so there was never a dull moment. The staff at CHOP Hair Cheonan Branch were relaxed and friendly, so even though it was my first visit, it didn't feel awkward at all.

The hand pack service that impressed me most

And the service that impressed me most personally: the hand pack! It was my first time at a place that gives you a hand pack during a clinic, and I was way more satisfied than I expected. They even leave the thumb and index finger open so you can use your phone! It's a small touch, but as a customer it was really touching.

Step 4: Cuticle care

The last step of the Ayunchae clinic was cuticle care. Already by this point I could feel my hair getting softer with my fingertips.

How did curly, damaged hair change after the Ayunchae clinic?

After finishing the whole Ayunchae clinic, the change was even clearer once I dried my hair. Before, damaged strands used to catch even when I ran my hand through, but after the clinic it was much softer and calmer. The frizz that used to puff up settled down, giving a neat look overall. My hair also felt lighter, so I didn't regret the clinic at all.

Can you see it?? I only blow-dried it, and the frizz from before is gone. Damaged strands used to catch on my hand. It also feels lighter, so absolutely no regrets about getting the clinic!!!

Trimming damaged ends, tidying bangs, and advice to come every 2–3 months

To finish, CHOP Hair Cheonan Branch trimmed the damaged parts a little and tidied my bangs, and it looked much neater. My stylist told me that to grow hair out healthily, it's good to trim the damaged parts about once every 2–3 months, and that made total sense to me. I'd been putting off salon visits because I was growing my hair out, but from now on I think I should get regular care.

CHOP Hair Cheonan Branch was my first salon in Cheonan, and I was satisfied overall with the facilities, service and results. If you're worried about summer frizz or hair damaged by frequent dyeing and perms, a clinic is worth trying at least once. If you want hair care and some relaxation at the same time, this is a Cheonan hair salon I'd recommend :)
