Seocho Station pie shop: long-trip treats for kids at Saison de Pie
In short
Saison de Pie (쎄종드파이) is a handmade pie and baked-goods shop on a side street in Seocho-dong, near Seocho Station in Seoul. What is Saison de Pie near Seocho Station?
Saison de Pie is a handmade pie shop near Seocho Station, a dessert spot in Seocho that sells pies and baked sweets made in the store. My husband and I came up to Seoul on errands, and I kept thinking of our two daughters waiting at home for mom and dad, so I brought them a surprise: a whole box of Saison de Pie's handmade pies and baked goods.
They say everything is baked in the store with 100% good ingredients, so I think it would be a great choice for kids' snacks, gifts for people close to you, or even a formal thank-you present. A pretty, carefully filled dessert box is a very tasteful way to say thanks.
The story of being lured by a sweet smell into a Seocho back alley.

It had been a while since my husband and I came up to Seoul on our own for errands. Once we finished everything quickly, the faces of our two girls kept floating in front of my eyes. I wanted to treat the big sister who looked after her little sibling so reliably while we were away, and the younger one who was surely playing bravely and listening to her sister. So I tracked down a great Seocho dessert shop like a pro, if I say so myself!

Walking down an alley near Seocho Station, I spotted a cute, charming handmade pie shop from far away. Holding my husband's hand, I opened the door as if in a trance. It was Saison de Pie: small and cozy, but full of skill. The moment I stepped inside, a sweet, nutty butter aroma brushed past my nose, and I was getting excited before I'd even tasted anything.

How many handmade pies does Saison de Pie make?
Saison de Pie has 8 kinds of handmade pies: pecan, Engadiner, blue lemon, blueberry, Aurora, apple, cherry pistachio and Orion. Pies baked in the store each morning are lined up in the display case.
What caught my eye right away was the view inside the showcase. Under soft lighting, the handmade pies sat neatly in pretty dishes, which looked so appealing. The sight alone made my mouth water, and choosing became a happy dilemma.

The handmade pies here are pecan, Engadiner, blue lemon, blueberry, Aurora and apple, and I was so busy deciding that I forgot to photograph the cherry pistachio and Orion pies, which makes 8 kinds in total, haha

Saison de Pie baked goods and drinks
Besides handmade pies, Saison de Pie has a nice range of baked goods: nuts croquant, diamant cookies, coconut tuile, coconut chocolate chip cookies, Earl Grey tea cookies and more. I hear the baked goods are just as popular as the pies.
And there's another dessert you shouldn't miss at this Seocho dessert spot! The baked goods are cheerful just to look at. Since they're said to be as popular as the pies, I had my eye on them, and I found myself dropping the round, pretty diamant cookies, which I thought my kids would love, into my basket as if in a trance, haha

They also sell coffee, ade and tea, just so you know^^

Which pies travel best on a long trip?
Because the ride home is long, I skipped the pies topped with whipped cream and chose Saison de Pie's pecan pie, Engadiner pie and diamant cookies. There were lots of delicious handmade pies, but since it takes us a while to get home, I gave up on the ones with fresh cream.
Handmade pies and baked sweets that won over both daughters.

It's a long way from Seoul to our home, so the owner of Saison de Pie packed the pies carefully so they wouldn't shift around.

How did the two daughters like the pies?
Signature pecan pie: the older daughter's favorite, better with every bite
Living up to its signature status, Saison de Pie's pecan pie has a firm, crisp pâte brisée crust, and the subtle flavor of maple syrup and honey butter blends wonderfully with the nuttiness of the pecans. My older daughter said it tastes better the more she chews^^

Engadiner pie: "Mom, this is really soft and delicious"
Saison de Pie's Engadiner pie is said to be a traditional pastry from the Engadin region of Switzerland (the original says "Molang"). Inside a crisp yet tender shortbread-style crust (sablé) are chewy caramel and sweet honey, packed with nutty walnuts. My daughter called it a fascinating traditional pastry that gets nuttier the more you chew, and gave a thumbs-up, saying "Mom, this is really soft and delicious."

Diamant cookies in 2 flavors: a crisp, crumbly kids' snack
The last ones I brought home were Saison de Pie's diamant cookies (baked sablé-style cookies) in 2 flavors. I chose almond hazelnut and sweet chocolate almond. The rich flavor of walnuts and nuts filling the cookie was really appealing. Biting into one, it crumbles crisply, and the texture is great, so it was a good pick for the kids' snack^^
Saison de Pie, a good choice for kids' snacks and gifts.

Is Saison de Pie a good gift shop?
With its taste and its neat, careful packaging, I think Saison de Pie in Seocho is a good place to buy gifts for family or people you care about. It was a happy day, getting to thank the kids who waited for mom and dad with a tasty snack.
I visited through a nice opportunity, and if you're looking for a special snack for your kids, or a thoughtful dessert to take away on a trip to Seoul, why not stop by Saison de Pie, full of freshly baked handmade pies?
