Wondang bakery café: latte ice cream on chestnut bread, Baedagol
In short
Baedagol Bakery House (배다골베이커리하우스) is a large two-floor bakery café near Wondang Station in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi, with an outdoor terrace full of hydrangeas and three free parking lots. On a drive, the writer ordered a Häagen-Dazs caramel latte (₩10,000), a coconut coffee smoothie (₩10,000), a fresh mango yogurt smoothie (₩11,000) and chestnut bread (₩8,000), and the standout was spooning the latte's ice cream onto the chestnut bread packed with big chestnuts. It was such a nice day that we went for a drive and ended up at Baedagol Bakery House (배다골베이커리하우스) in Deogyang-gu, Goyang. I love bakery cafés and have visited a lot of them, but this one was really great for the bread, the coffee and the view, so I'm recommending it!! It's perfect for families, so stop by if you're driving around Deogyang-gu or Wondang Station.

Is parking easy at Baedagol Bakery House in Wondang?
Lot 1 is in front of the café and Lots 2 and 3 are across from it, so no need to worry about parking!! For a big bakery café, parking matters a lot, right?
Hydrangea garden and seating on the 1st and 2nd floors
The building looks small, but there are quite a lot of seats tucked into every corner! There's also outdoor seating where you can enjoy hydrangeas and other pretty flowers, so the terrace would be perfect on a nice day.
The hydrangeas were in full bloom and so pretty. Lots of guests, young and old, were taking photos. No need to go to a botanical garden!! Inside, the café has a 1st and 2nd floor.
It was bustling everywhere. There were especially many families, so finding a seat was a bit hard, sob. If you spot a free seat, sit down right away!!

Ordering and takeout on the 1st floor, plus fans and blankets to borrow
At Baedagol Bakery House, ordering and packing up leftover bread are both done on the 1st floor.

There are thoughtful touches like these all around the café, which made it really easy to use. Where else does a café lend you fans and blankets?!!! We grabbed a seat on the 2nd floor first, then came down to order.
How much are drinks at Baedagol Bakery House?
An americano at Baedagol Bakery House is ₩6,000, so drinks aren't cheap..!

It's mango season as of July, so there were mango drinks and bingsu (shaved ice dessert) too 🥭🥭🥭🥭
Bread selection and display cases at Baedagol Bakery House
The bread at Baedagol Bakery House is kept in auto-door display cases like this.

There were lots of meal-style breads like Mont Blanc, chestnut bread and salt bread, and cakes like these too!!
(When we were heading home, I saw different breads in the case. It seems that once the earlier batch sells out, they keep baking other kinds!) ❗️Good to know❗️
Above the bakery case there were things like a baker's certificate(?) and a birthday event notice, which show how much the owner cares about the café.

What we ordered at Baedagol Bakery House
We ordered the bread and coffee that looked most tempting at Baedagol Bakery House.
- 🍨 Häagen-Dazs caramel latte (₩10,000)
- 🥥 Coconut coffee smoothie (₩10,000)
- 🥭 Fresh mango yogurt smoothie (₩11,000)
- 🍞 Chestnut bread (₩8,000)
Next to the counter there are also QR codes for Naver receipt reviews and Wi-Fi, so scan them before heading back to your seat and you're set.
Häagen-Dazs caramel latte (₩10,000): when should you pour in the shot?
The Häagen-Dazs caramel latte at Baedagol Bakery House comes with the coffee shot on the side, so you pour it in yourself as you like while eating!! Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream with caramel drizzle on top was so sweet and made me happy 😊 Doesn't it look delicious just from the photo?
I should have eaten a bit more before pouring the coffee, haha... I-I spilled a little... but I recommend eating about a quarter first, then pouring. Still, adding the coffee made it look even better.
And the real value of this coffee shows when you have it with bread. Putting the ice cream on the chestnut bread was honestly a perfect combo. Everyone, please try the 🤎Häagen-Dazs caramel latte + chestnut bread🤎 combo 👍👍👍👍
Coconut coffee smoothie (₩10,000)
The coconut coffee smoothie at Baedagol Bakery House was like Vietnam's Cộng Cà Phê coffee, with the sweetness of coconut blended nicely with coffee, so it was easy to drink. Being a smoothie, it was extra cold and refreshing, which I loved!!
Fresh mango yogurt smoothie (₩11,000)
Honestly the ultimate looker of a mango smoothie... They brought a separate bowl and we put the mango topping onto the drink ourselves, then just ate the rest. The mango is already scored, so you can just pick it up with a fork and drop it in!! 🧡💛🥭🥭🥭🥭💛🧡
The sweet, soft flavor of fresh mango went so well with the yogurt smoothie made with mango syrup. The mango syrup inside is quite sweet, but the yogurt smoothie balances it out, so I think you should stir it well before drinking!!

Chestnut bread (₩8,000): is it really packed with chestnuts?
The chestnut bread at Baedagol Bakery House was originally a whole loaf, but they sliced it up for us so it's easy to eat!! Honestly, chestnut bread at bakery cafés often doesn't have many chestnuts, so I hesitated about buying it, but the moment I picked it up it felt heavy, so I got it 🍞🍞🍞🍞🍞🍞🍞
When I cut it open, the chestnuts were big and there were quite a lot. They really don't skimp on ingredients, haha. The bread's texture was soft and the crumble on top was tasty too, so it went well with coffee.

For packing up leftover bread, use the self-service corner(?) on the 1st floor.

While waiting for the 1st-floor restroom, I snapped what another guest had ordered because it looked so good 🍓🧈🥞🧇🥖🍩🍫🎂 Maybe because there were so many groups, everyone's trays were loaded with bread and drinks, haha.

Is Baedagol Bakery House worth a visit?
Beyond the bread and coffee 🌺🌺 it's surrounded by flowers 🌸🌸 so I think it's a perfect photo spot too. If you're looking for a big bakery café in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, I recommend Baedagol Bakery House~!!
