Goyang Korean restaurant for noodles: Bongpyeong Gohyang Makguksu

At Bongpyeong Gohyang Makguksu (봉평고향막국수), a Korean restaurant in Wonsin-dong, Deogyang-gu, Goyang, I ate deulkkae memil kalguksu (buckwheat noodle soup with perilla seeds) and memil buchimgae (buckwheat pancake). I liked the nutty broth, chewy house-made noodles and ongsimi (potato dumplings), and the mildly seasoned pancake. The spacious dining room and parking lot also seemed well suited to family meals or group gatherings.

Goyang Korean restaurant for clear and spicy gomtang: Doonjeong

Doonjeong is a Korean restaurant in Hyang-dong, Deogyang-gu, Goyang, near Sangam DMC. I had previously returned for its clear Korean beef gomtang, and this time we shared spicy Korean beef gomtang, spicy tripe gomtang, and a half portion of dressed meat. The clear soup was light and clean, while the two spicy soups each had their own beefy or nutty tripe flavor.

Goyang noodle restaurant: perilla soup at Bongpyeong Gohyang Makguksu

Bongpyeong Gohyang Makguksu (봉평고향막국수) is a restaurant making its own noodles near Wondang in Deogyang-gu, Goyang. My mother and I shared deulkkae memil makguksu (buckwheat noodles in perilla seed broth), mixed mandu (dumplings), and memil buchimgae (buckwheat pancakes); the nutty broth and lightly seasoned pancakes went well together. The spacious private parking lot and generous space between tables made it comfortable for a meal with my mother.

Goyang Korean restaurant for clear beef soup: Doonjeong

Doonjeong is a Korean restaurant in Hyangdong, Goyang, where I ate clear Korean beef soup and a meat-and-chive pancake with my children. The mild broth and tender beef suited them well, and the pancake had noticeable meat and shiitake mushrooms. At the time of our visit, we were told that extra rice and broth were available free of charge.

Goyang noodle restaurant: perilla soup at Bongpyeong Gohyang Makguksu

Bongpyeong Gohyang Makguksu (봉평고향막국수) is a Korean noodle restaurant in a standalone building on Hoguk-ro in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, where I had lunch with my child after a weekend outing. We had deulkkae memil kalguksu (buckwheat knife-cut noodles in perilla seed soup), mul makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles in broth), and memil buchimgae (buckwheat pancake). The rich, slightly thick perilla broth and thin, soft pancake stood out, while ample parking and space between tables made the meal comfortable with a child.
