After our trip to E-World, we went for lunch at Pyeongsang Myeonok Sotbap Bansang (pot rice set meal) Duryu Negeori Branch, near Duryu Station. I was looking for a neat Korean set meal where we could sit comfortably. It was a weekend outing with the kids, enjoying the cool, perfect October weather as a change of pace.

After E-World in Daegu, this was a good lunch spot to stop at with kids: among the Duryu Station restaurants, I wanted a clean, tidy Korean set meal and a comfortable place to eat.

Pyeongsang Myeonok Duryu Negeori Branch is a Seo-gu, Daegu favorite with great word of mouth! My kids love it and say it's delicious, so this is already my nth visit!!

Two adults and our sons, 11 and 7, went together and ordered the small braised cod cheek (daegu bbol-jorim) for ₩35,000 and one grilled mackerel, which the kids love. Pyeongsang Myeonok has a wide range of Korean set meals and tidy Korean dishes, so it's a great pick for a family meal out.

The side dishes at Pyeongsang Myeonok Duryu Negeori Branch were varied and clean: vegetable salad, seasoned cockles, seasoned greens, water kimchi and more. The main dishes arrived one after another and piled onto the table alongside the neatly laid-out sides.

Every side dish brought out the natural flavor of the ingredients with no artificial seasoning taste, and you can feel the care put into them. Totally my taste!

From the fresh vegetable salad to the seasoned cockles, seasoned greens and water kimchi, the sides were so varied and clean that my chopsticks kept busy.🤩

How many people does the small braised cod cheek feed?

The small braised cod cheek was so generous that two adults ate their fill with food left over, and it was still enough with our 11-year-old joining in. The sweet-and-spicy, savory sauce had no fishy smell and the heat was just right.

The look of this prized braised cod cheek was honestly impressive. It came on a big plate piled with cod meat soaked through with sauce, plenty of vegetables, and that rich, savory braising sauce.

Even though it's the small size, the portion was so generous that two adults ate until full and still had some left. Our 11-year-old ate with us too, and there was enough^^

The big, chewy cod cheek meat was so springy and firm that the texture in the mouth was truly a work of art.

No fishy smell at all and just the right spiciness, so it's a real rice thief (a dish that makes you eat lots of rice). I put the well-cooked potato, radish and bean sprouts on rice with a little sauce, and the rich flavor filled my mouth.

One bite and I understood why so many people recommend this Seo-gu favorite in unison!

The grilled mackerel the kids loved

The grilled mackerel was crisp outside and moist inside, with the grease gone and a clean, mild taste. This golden grilled mackerel was the dish my kid had been singing about since we were playing at E-World.

It was mild yet wonderfully nutty. Mackerel! Seeing the kids eat so well, I'm now curious about the grilled mackerel set too 😋

I put big pieces of mackerel on warm rice, and the kids ate it so happily that I felt so proud, so proud!

Thanks to the salty-savory flavor of grilled mackerel, my kid wolfed down a whole bowl of rice in no time. A complete October weekend lunch at Duryu Station near E-World.

Thanks to the tidy table setting and carefully made dishes, our lunch with the kids after E-World was truly satisfying.
