Gwangalli brunch café after Bukkangi: first Turkish egg, Famous Benny
In short
Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch is an Australian-style brunch café near Gwangalli Beach in Suyeong, Busan, open daily 08:00–18:00. After going to Gwangalli to see Bukkangi, the writer ordered two iced long blacks, an iced latte, a garlic butter egg (Turkish egg), mushroom soup and an acai bowl, all eaten in the second-floor seating. The first-ever Turkish egg and the topping-packed acai bowl were both satisfying, making Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a brunch café in Gwangalli.

Where is Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch, and when does it open?
Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch is a brunch café on the 1st and 2nd floors of 64 Millakbondong-ro 11beon-gil, Suyeong-gu, Busan, close to Gwangalli beach. I found it easily with Naver Map.

It's open daily 08:00 - 18:00. If you're traveling, it sounds perfect for waking up in the morning and taking your time with coffee and brunch. Today I'd gone to Gwangalli to see Bukkangi, so I dropped in for a relaxed coffee and brunch!

What did we order at Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch?
You can check the menu outside the shop, and of course inside too. Here's what we ordered.
- 2 iced long blacks
- Iced latte
- Mushroom soup
- Garlic butter egg (Turkish egg)
- Acai bowl

They had a nice range of beans, and it was the first café I've seen that separates long black from iced Americano! Honestly I can't really tell the difference either, but I ordered the long black haha. I know nothing about coffee, but I love it!

What's the vibe of the 1st-floor ordering and 2nd-floor seating?
You order at the 1st-floor counter and head up the stairs to the 2nd floor, and they bring your food to you.

The 2nd floor has open window seats, plus round and square tables, so you get plenty of space while eating brunch. Every seat has an outlet, so it felt relaxed and comfortable for working while having a coffee on your own.

The 2nd floor also has a water purifier, extra cutlery, sugar and salt, so there was no need to go downstairs once the brunch arrived. The whole interior is cozy with pops of color, and the hip, stylish look felt fresh.

How were the iced long black and latte?
The two long blacks and the iced latte came out first. The weather was so, so nice that it was almost hot, so a cold iced americano-style drink was just perfect. The latte was nicely nutty and tasty too.

Today's main Australian brunch has arrived! A full spread, isn't it...? 😝 From the left going clockwise: garlic butter egg, mushroom soup and acai bowl. The brunch was ready almost right after the drinks, so if you want to take photos together, it's worth waiting a moment.

We came to an aesthetic café, so of course we need one aesthetic shot, right? The beans seem to be roasted in Melbourne. It was a long black with a slight acidity and a fragrant aroma.

What does the garlic butter egg (Turkish egg) taste like?
Famous Benny's garlic butter egg (Turkish egg) is yogurt topped with garlic butter and nuts, served with a poached egg, and it was a totally unfamiliar dish for me. So this is Australian brunch? The nutty garlic butter aroma covered everything the moment it arrived, and I was so curious how it would taste.

Yogurt with garlic butter and nuts: savory yet fresh, with crunchy nuts, and it had a magical pull that kept me reaching for more.

There was a poached egg too, so I tried them together. The richness of the egg and the Turkish egg on crispy bread seemed like a flavor I'd never had before, and I really enjoyed it.

How does the mushroom soup come with sourdough?
The mushroom soup at Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch comes with onion flakes, truffle oil, and a thick mushroom soup served with toasted sourdough. It's a can't-go-wrong combo, right? A soup full of my favorite things!
I dunked the toasted sourdough that came with it right into the soup, and the bread was super crispy, a real treat.

Dipped with bread it was filling, and even just spooning up the soup it was nutty and packed with mushrooms, warm and still chewy. I loved it.

What toppings come on the acai bowl?
The acai bowl at Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch was generously loaded with peanut butter, nuts, coconut, blueberries, raspberries and banana. Purplecore along with the acai bowl, all aboard!

This was my first properly eaten acai bowl, and it was nutty, cool and crunchy, so good, honestly! With so many toppings it was more nutty than tangy, and since it wasn't sweet I never got tired of it; it went down easily.
If you're looking for a great brunch café in Gwangalli, I recommend Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch. Bye-bye 👋
