Pohang Songdo night-view restaurant: beef cream spaghetti, Plan A
In short
Plan A Restaurant (플랜에이레스토랑) is an ocean-view Western restaurant on the 4th floor of a building on Huimang-daero in Nam-gu, Pohang. Over dinner at Plan A Restaurant, the writer ordered beef cream spaghetti, the Plan A chop steak (120g), a green grape ade and a lemonade, with Pohang's night lights and the sea visible through floor-to-ceiling windows. The beef cream spaghetti, generous with minced beef and mushrooms, was the most satisfying dish.

I was looking for a restaurant with a nice atmosphere in Pohang and ended up at Plan A Restaurant for dinner. You can eat while looking out over the ocean, and it's already well known as a Pohang date spot and a place for anniversaries. I tried pasta, steak and more, and both the plating and the finished flavors were good, so I was happy the whole meal. If you want atmosphere and taste together in Pohang, I think it's worth a visit at least once. Let me walk you through what I ate, one dish at a time!

Inside Plan A Restaurant: can you see Pohang's night view?
The interior was spacious and pleasant, and thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows you can take in the Pohang night view and the sea together in the evening.

The tables are nicely spaced too, so I could eat without feeling cramped.

Plan A Restaurant menu and what we ordered
Plan A Restaurant is a Western restaurant with steak as the main act, plus pasta, pilaf and risotto. The menu was really well rounded, with lots of signature dishes, so it felt like nothing you order would be a miss. After some agonizing, we went with the popular picks.

We ordered the beef cream spaghetti, the Plan A chop steak (120g), a green grape ade and a lemonade.

How was the Plan A chop steak (120g)?
The Plan A chop steak (120g) looked the part right away. The meat came in generous chunks, and the moment I bit in, the juices spread, nice and moist,

and the texture was tender, not tough, so I kept reaching for more.

The sauce, salty with a faint sweetness, soaked well into the meat, and eaten together with the vegetables the combination was really good.

The fries served with the chop steak were fried crisp and made a good side, and the grilled onions and mushrooms kept their sweet flavor, so they tasted even better with the meat.

Is the beef cream spaghetti too rich?
The cream sauce on Plan A's beef cream spaghetti, a ragù-style pasta, was thick but not heavy, with a rich, nutty flavor. The noodles were soaked through with sauce, so I enjoyed it right down to the last bite.

It had a really generous amount of minced beef and mushrooms, so there was chew in every bite. You can tell they didn't skimp on ingredients, and personally this was the dish I enjoyed most.

Green grape ade or lemonade: which to order?
The green grape ade was sweet and refreshing, and the lemonade had a bright, zesty tang. Taking a sip between bites of the cream pasta and chop steak left my mouth feeling reset, so the pairing was great. I liked the lemonade better.

Plan A Restaurant Naver booking and photo-review free side
At the time of my visit, Plan A Restaurant was also running an event: book through Naver and write a photo review to get a free side. Just by writing the review you can get one of spicy chili sauce fried chicken, black sesame sauce fried chicken, or jumbo fried shrimp, so be sure to join in if you visit!
