Dog-friendly camping BBQ restaurant at Palgongsan, Daegu: Palkkongi

Now that it's September, mornings and evenings are definitely cooler, and I feel so much better 👏🏻👏🏻 Once the weather turned crisp, I started craving camping again, so I went looking for somewhere nearby to do a day trip over the weekend — and found this camping-style restaurant at Palgongsan in Daegu called "Palkkongi" (팔꽁이). You don't need to bring anything, just show up, and dogs are welcome too, so it made for a light and easy outing. Here's my healing trip report after a while 😆

I'd actually been glamping right next door at a glamping site called Treepool, and this place was literally right beside it! I saw it while taking a walk back then and just assumed it was another glamping site — turns out it's actually a camping restaurant haha.

Parking and weekend hours

Parking is available starting from here, and once you go further in there's a separate parking area too.

On weekends there are three time slots total: 11:00–14:00 / 14:30–17:30 / 18:00–21:00. I booked the 14:30 slot, and check-in is possible starting 10 minutes before your reserved time!

Tent fees — meokping and campnic

I arrived a bit early so I had time to spare, so I took a walk around and looked at the surroundings haha.

• Meokping (2–6 people) - ₩20,000
• Campnic (6–12 people) - ₩30,000

There were two of us, so we were assigned a meokping tent! For 3 hours of use at that price, it felt affordable and pretty good.

Inside the shop there was also a dining area like this, and the mountain view was insane,,,👍🏻 It felt refreshing with phytoncides just from looking at it — a little healing moment. Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but I've been loving nature so much lately, haha.

Play facilities great for going with kids

There were various play facilities well set up too, so it's great if you're visiting with kids. I wanted to try the trampoline myself but apparently middle schoolers and up aren't allowed, so that was a bummer haha. There was also something like a spinning swing, but as an adult I just watched from a distance.

It was bigger than I expected, but reservations were fully booked on the weekend — it's a total hot spot~~

A structure where you buy everything at the shop

Since outside food isn't allowed, you can buy everything you need at the shop — drinks, snacks, ramen, instant rice, meat, kimchi, vegetables, they had it all, and the prices weren't too pricey either, so it was easy to enjoy without worry. They even had a good variety of board games available, so it was great for playing after eating too.

How much does the meat cost?

I was torn between pork belly and pork shoulder, but picked pork belly! The meat was about ₩9,000-something per serving, which felt similar to regular restaurant prices. Prices generally ranged from the mid ₩40,000s to low ₩50,000s per pack.

Free self-service corner and charcoal service

The self-service corner is free to use — there was lettuce, perilla leaves, cheongyang chili, ssamjang, and garlic, and all sorts of utensils and disposables were prepared too.

This I didn't expect — they even lit the charcoal for us! It really felt like proper camping haha. They smoke-seared the meat with charcoal fragrance first, then brought it into the tent to grill again.

I bought extra mixed vegetables and kimchi, and they set up a full spread with wraps for us haha.

My partner grilled the meat diligently, and since it was charcoal-seared first, it tasted even better — plus with the air conditioning in the tent, you could enjoy it without worry even in the hot summer!

Finishing with fried rice and ramen

Throwing in meat, onion, mushroom, garlic, and kimchi, the fried rice my partner made was also a work of art haha. Adding a bit of ssamjang while frying it made it taste amazing — it really felt like we were on a trip, so good.

And of course, ramen is essential when camping, right? To finish, we ate a satisfying bowl of ramen, and since the weather was cool and there was an extra table set up outside each tent, sitting there to eat felt like real healing time ㅠㅠ

We even played board games with a wish coupon on the line and had such a fun time!

Who should visit?

It's a great course for family outings or couples' dates, and since dogs are welcome too, it's a versatile camping restaurant near Palgongsan in Daegu to spend time at. Best of all, you don't need to bring anything else, and the fees are on the affordable side, so it's even better the more people you go with.
