What treatments did I get at Reve Esthetic?

I had a deep skin booster treatment at Reve Esthetic in Chungbuk Innovation City. With the seasons changing, I've been thinking a lot about skin care, so this time I visited Reve Esthetic (레브에스테틱) in Chungbuk Innovation City.

Besides the facial, I also got a lymph massage plus upper body and abdomen massage. Even compared with other treatments I've had, this one was especially thorough and long, so it stuck with me. It went on so long that it felt like about an hour and a half.

What is the atmosphere like at Reve Esthetic?

Reve Esthetic is in Jincheon's Chungbuk Innovation City, with a calm, quiet mood and a subtle scent that left an impression. The moment I walked in, I noticed how neatly arranged the space was. The whole place is calm and quiet, so it was easy to step away from a hectic day and focus on skin care.

The subtle fragrance drifting through the space really stood out. They seem to care a lot about scent, because the relaxed mood continued throughout my treatment.

How does the consultation before treatment work?

Before the treatment begins, the director talks with you at length about your skin condition and concerns, and the treatment is tailored to that. When you go for skin care, you're curious which products they use and in what order things go, right?

She went through how I take care of my skin now and what I should improve, in really careful detail. I liked that the treatment was tailored to it. And after I finished... I went home carrying an armful like this.

A surprise event: the lucky draw and choosing a scent

A lucky draw event was running when I visited, and I drew a skincare kit! I thought I was just getting a treatment and leaving, but I joined the event and won a skincare kit. I never expected such a generous kit.

In the photo you can see containers in various colors. You pick a color yourself, and the massage uses a scent that matches it. I chose red, which apparently is the color people pick when they're tired. I got my massage with a refreshing scent meant to relieve fatigue. If you like scent-based treatments or want to try a new fragrance, I think you'd love it.

The treatment room and the skincare products used

The treatment room at Reve Esthetic has a toasty warm bed, fragrance and soft music. When I lay down on the bed it was so toasty warm that I got sleepy.

It smells so lovely, and just being in this space is healing. The music is soft too.

These are the skincare products used in today's treatment... There's a huge variety and they applied them generously, so it's hard for your skin to get worse.

They started with a foam cleanse. I think it was the longest facial treatment I've ever had. They checked my skin as they went and explained each step, so I could relax while understanding what each one was doing.

How long do the deep skin booster and water-drop lifting take?

The water-drop lifting at Reve Esthetic used a water-drop ultrasonic device and went on for what felt like 20 minutes, a very long time. Other places finished in under 10 minutes, but here they kept going for ages so moisture could soak deep into the pores.

I have very dry skin, so I especially liked that they took enough time and did the facial carefully.

Finishing with a modeling pack

At the end came a thick-layered mask treatment. They applied it thickly, as if wrapping my whole face, and my skin felt moisturized and calmed. As time went on the pack gradually hardened, and later it came off in one piece in the shape of my face.

Even while the pack was on, my skin felt comfortably wrapped. Since it's a finishing step that fills the skin with moisture, I felt moisturized and comfortable rather than dry. It stayed cool and pleasant until the moment the pack came off, so even that last step was memorable.

Afterward my skin had moisture back and began to have a soft glow. It was even super moist and squishy, and I kept wanting to touch it..

Are lymph massage and upper body and abdomen care included?

Yes. At Reve Esthetic, the facial came with a lymph massage, an upper body massage and an abdomen massage. It was a little different from typical skin care that focuses only on the face.

The lymph massage uses gentle pressure and is sometimes used to help circulation. Skin condition is affected by many factors like sleep and lifestyle, so you can't say a massage alone makes skin better. Still, it stayed with me that they looked after the body carefully along with the face. With the upper body and abdomen added, the time felt even more worthwhile.

Glow in the T-zone right after treatment

The biggest change when I stepped out right after the deep skin booster was that my T-zone started to glow. Before this, my skin was seriously dry and flaky.

It felt like I had the skin I had 10 years ago. This is my skin?! It felt so strange that I kept touching it and got told off. But honestly, it's amazing.

On top of that, I got the skincare kit from the lucky draw, plus the skin booster ampoule I'd used, and if you leave a short note for Reve you get a healing capsule... My hands were full of freebies... The director packed up so much for me.

A skincare prescription for dry skin

In my consultation with the director at Reve Esthetic, I found out I'd been applying my skincare in the wrong order. Before the treatment I told her how I take care of my skin, and it turned out I'd been doing it very wrong from the start?

It turns out I was applying my skincare in the very, very wrong order. She also said cleansing with foam both morning and night isn't good for dry skin, so I decided on water-only washing in the morning and foam cleanser at night. And she explained for a really long time the order for using the 5-day kit she packed for me.

She even packed up the skin booster that was applied to my face earlier.. and I got the healing capsule too..

I got 5 days' worth and it's a lot. Energy cream, hydro cream, essence, cream, ampoule.. The products suit my skin type so well that I've already caught myself searching for them.

My skin is still glossy and smooth.
