What did we eat at Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store near Jeongja Station?

I went to Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store (까몬 분당정자직영점), a Vietnamese restaurant near Jeongja Station, with a friend and we had bún chả (grilled pork with cold rice noodles), chả giò (fried spring rolls) and fried rice. I love Vietnamese food and often end up eating pho or bún chả when the craving hits, so this time I headed to Kkamon's Bundang branch, famous around Jeongja Station.

Jeongja-dong has so many good restaurants, but I kept reading reviews saying this one has a real Vietnamese feel, so I was curious. Once I got there, the clean interior, the generous food and the easygoing flavors all satisfied me. The bún chả, chả giò and fried rice combo was so good that I wanted to introduce it.

A menu that's easy to share between two friends

Are the chả giò spring rolls at Kkamon crispy?

The chả giò at Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store were golden and crispy outside and moist and full inside. They were really tasty, and the texture was great from the first bite.

They weren't too greasy, so they were easy to eat, and they went even better alongside the bún chả. Dipped in the tangy sauce, the crunch and flavor really came alive. They're a side dish, but I'd recommend ordering them for sure.

How does the bún chả at Kkamon taste?

The first dish to arrive was the bún chả, with noodles, vegetables, meat and sauce served separately and in generous portions. It looked so hearty that I was excited before even taking a bite. The noodles were springy, and plenty of fresh vegetables added a crisp texture.

The meat had a faint charcoal aroma, was tender and had no gamey smell at all, so it was really good. Dipping the noodles, meat and vegetables together in the sweet and tangy bún chả sauce worked together beautifully.

With every bite it was clean yet savory, the kind of flavor that keeps your chopsticks moving. If you usually like bún chả, I think you'll be satisfied.

All three dishes balanced each other well, so we never got tired of them and enjoyed them to the end. The fresh sauce of the bún chả, the crunchy chả giò and the mild fried rice together gave us a variety of flavors, which made it even more satisfying.

Is the fried rice at Kkamon generous?

The fried rice at Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store was bigger than I expected, which surprised me. Even ordered on its own, it would be a filling meal.

The rice was stir-fried loose and fluffy with a variety of ingredients, so it was fun to chew, and a faint wok flavor added depth. The seasoning was moderate and not too strong, and eating it with the bún chả let us enjoy two different charms.
