Dana is a Dongseong-ro favorite where the atmosphere and the flavors haven't changed a bit.

What is Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch, and is there parking?
Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch (다나 동성로본점) is a Western restaurant on the second floor of a building in Dongseong-ro, Daegu. It has no parking lot of its own, so if you drive, use a paid lot nearby. I recommend it if you want a Dongseong-ro spot with good atmosphere and good food. The second floor is built as a loft, and that unusual structure stands out even from outside.

Cute miniatures greet you at the entrance. Dana has been loved as a Dongseong-ro restaurant for almost 10 years, and some of the characters have been there through all of that time.

Is Dana in Dongseong-ro still the same after 10 years?
Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch is a casual Western restaurant with a loft layout. It looks exactly like it did 10 years ago, so the memories came flooding back, and it was kind of amazing that nothing had changed.

It's comfortable and cozy, so it works for meeting friends, a date or even a blind date. I actually saw people on a blind date there 🤩 Outside cake is allowed too, so you can throw a birthday party without worrying about anyone's looks. You order and pay in one go on the loft's first level.

The loft has big windows, and the open feeling at the window seats is especially nice.

This time we ordered beef flap steak (₩27,000), baked risotto (₩15,000) and fresh rosé pasta (₩12,500). I worried whether two of us could finish it all, but funnily enough it was so good that we cleaned every plate even though we were full haha

Can you choose how Dana's beef flap steak is cooked?
You can't choose the doneness of Dana's beef flap steak (₩27,000), but the sous vide beef is grilled to a nicely done medium.

It comes sliced, which makes it easy to eat. They also give you a steak knife, so you can cut it smaller if you like. It comes with mashed potatoes and grilled mushrooms, plus salt, steak sauce, wasabi and whole grain mustard sauce.

Of the three side dishes, I chose the green salad with balsamic dressing! Going for freshness haha

The steak was cooked just right. I usually like the softness of medium rare, but the chew of medium was good too.

Because the beef is sous vide, it's chewy yet springy, and that was its charm. The bigger the bite, the more you feel the chew.

What is Dana's baked risotto?
Dana's baked risotto (₩15,000) is risotto stuffed in a tortilla and baked in the oven. It's one of Dana's recommended and most popular dishes, a bestseller you have to try when you visit, so I couldn't skip it.

It looks a little different from the risotto you usually know, doesn't it? It's a dry style of risotto.

Cut it open and it's packed with risotto, crispy outside and moist inside!

The risotto is simmered in a spicy cream sauce with plump shrimp, and the melted cheese makes it richly savory, a dish you can only taste at Dana. It goes so well with the creamy sauce!

How does Dana's fresh rosé pasta taste?
Dana's fresh rosé pasta (₩12,500) combines a bright tomato sauce with a rich cream sauce. It comes with bread for dipping in the sauce.

Dana makes its pasta sauces in-house, so you get a flavor that's all its own. Overall it's on the salty side, with a strong tangy kick.

It's addictive, and you end up scraping the plate clean haha If you're looking for a special Western restaurant in Dongseong-ro with a wide range of dishes, I recommend Dana!
