Rama & Babana Suseong Branch is an Indian and Southeast Asian fusion restaurant across from the duck boat dock at Suseong Lake in Daegu. Two friends ordered beef curry with extra rice and garlic naan, tandoori cream chicken, a non-alcoholic beer and a Tsingtao, taking their time in the autumn mood of the lake. Rama & Babana is a place I already know well since I'm a regular at the Gumi branch haha :) This time I went to Suseong Lake with a friend and stopped by the Suseong branch. Going in autumn, the mood around the lake was lovely, and pairing delicious curry with beer made for a really relaxed meal with my friend.

Where is Rama & Babana Suseong Branch, and what are its hours?

Rama & Babana Suseong Branch sits right near Suseong Lake, so it's a great spot for a walk before or after eating. I'm already familiar with the food since I go to the Gumi branch often, but the Suseong branch felt different thanks to the lake location. Especially in this cool autumn weather, it worked perfectly as part of a Suseong Lake date course :)

It's located across from the duck boat dock at Suseong Lake, so it's easy to walk over for a meal after visiting the lake.

Is there parking near Suseong Lake?

Rama & Babana Suseong Branch has a dedicated parking lot behind the building, so you can visit by car. Around Suseong Lake, parking can be a hassle on weekends or busy times. That said, the lot itself isn't very large, so keep that in mind during peak hours.

I go to the Gumi branch often, but the Suseong branch has the advantage of being right in front of the lake. Eating with my friend and then walking around the lake afterward made it more than just a meal — a proper date or outing course. I went with a friend this time, but it'd work well for couples too. Autumn is such a pretty season at Suseong Lake, so the timing was perfect.

Beef curry with extra rice and garlic naan

We ordered beef curry and added rice and garlic naan. The curry is one of the main reasons I keep coming back to Rama & Babana, and it was great again this time. It's good with rice, and eating it with naan gives a completely different feel, so I like ordering both. If you prefer garlic naan over plain naan, definitely order it with the curry :)

We didn't just have curry — we also ordered tandoori cream chicken. With two of us sharing one curry, rice, garlic naan, and tandoori cream chicken, the spread was solid.

When people think of Indian food, curry and naan come to mind first, but Rama & Babana has plenty of dishes that pair well together, so it's great for ordering a variety to share.

Which beer goes with the curry?

I ordered a non-alcoholic beer and my friend got a Tsingtao. Curry and tandoori cream chicken with a cold beer made for a great combination.

This visit was meant to be a relaxed meal with a friend, so it was also nice for chatting over food. The mood of eating and having a beer at Suseong Lake in autumn was pretty great :)

Rama & Babana isn't a typical Indian restaurant that only serves curry and naan — it's a place where you can enjoy a range of fusion dishes together. Besides curry, they also have Southeast Asian style dishes like nasi goreng and mi goreng, so it's great for groups to order a variety and share. It's good whether you're searching for Indian food near Suseong Lake or just craving something a little different that day.

How the Suseong branch compares for a Gumi branch regular

This wasn't my first time trying the food and thinking it was good. I'm already a regular at the Gumi branch, so I knew it would be delicious going in haha. At the Suseong branch too, everything from the beef curry to the garlic naan and tandoori cream chicken was great. It's always nice when a restaurant you love has another branch elsewhere. I had a great meal at the Suseong branch too :)

Turning dinner into a Suseong Lake date course

There are plenty of cafés and restaurants around Suseong Lake, but sometimes you want something other than pasta or meat. That's when having curry, garlic naan, and tandoori dishes gives you a real change of options. It was great for a meal with a friend, but it would also suit anyone looking for a date spot near Suseong Lake. Finishing the meal with a walk around the lake makes planning the course easy.

Table set with curry and naan together

If you usually look for good restaurants around Dongseong-ro or unique food in downtown Daegu, it's worth widening your search to Suseong Lake. Especially if you like Indian food or Southeast Asian fusion, there's fun in choosing from the menu, plus you get to enjoy Suseong Lake too — that's the advantage of the Suseong branch. If you already liked Rama & Babana like I did, the Suseong branch is worth a visit too :)

I originally chose this place because I love the food from going to the Gumi branch so often, but this time the Suseong Lake atmosphere made it even better. We had beef curry with rice and garlic naan, plus tandoori cream chicken until we were full, and a beer each with my friend — a proper good time :) Especially in autumn, it's great to eat and then walk a lap around the lake, so save this if you're planning a date or an outing with friends. If you're looking for Indian food near Suseong Lake, Rama & Babana Suseong Branch is it — I'm planning to go again :)
