Daegu dog café in autumn, reading on a mat zone: Daenghaus&Bingsuking

In short

Daenghaus&Bingsuking is a large dog-friendly dessert café near Yakjeon Alley in Jung-gu, Daegu, occupying all three floors of its building. On an autumn holiday after the dog pool closed for the season on October 1, the writer visited Daenghaus&Bingsuking with their dog Joy, ordered a chicken breast treat (2,500 won) and drinks, and relaxed with a book in the 2nd-floor rubber mat play zone. Even after pool season, the roomy lawn and mat spaces make Daenghaus&Bingsuking a comfortable place to unwind with a dog.

Today's story is about a dog-friendly café in Daegu. It's a big café with tasty coffee and desserts, and it also has a dog pool, so it's extra popular in summer.

It's Daenghaus&Bingsuking (댕하우스&빙수킹). We visited on a holiday, and lots of people were already having a great time with their dogs. They sell dog treats, and the space is huge, which we loved.

Daenghaus&Bingsuking floor layout and the 1st-floor atmosphere

Daenghaus&Bingsuking runs a café, dog pool and grooming salon on the 1st floor, a playground, hotel and restroom on the 2nd, and a daycare and rooftop on the 3rd. Ta-da! Inside, a cute dog greeted us as we walked in.

Is the Daenghaus&Bingsuking dog pool open in autumn?

The Daenghaus&Bingsuking pool closed for the season on October 1. They say it will reopen when the weather warms up again. Ta-da! This is the outdoor pool and lawn zone. The pool is quite big, so dogs would surely love it. Sadly, it was already off-season when we went.

There's a photo zone right next to the pool, so Joy got a few photos taken too.

Camping chairs and tables are placed around, so it seems like a nice spot for tea in the sunshine outdoors. The ground is lawn, so it felt like the best place for dogs to run around.

Daenghaus&Bingsuking menu, prices and dog menu

The dog menu at Daenghaus&Bingsuking includes moist chicken breast (₩2,500), Mungpuccino (₩4,500) and dog nutrition porridge (₩4,800). We ordered the chicken breast for Joy. For ourselves we chose an iced americano (₩4,800) and a green grape ade (₩6,000).

The coffee and drink menu is very varied too. I ordered an iced americano (4.8) and a green grape ade (6.0), in thousands of won.

True to its name as a dessert café in Dongseongno, Daegu, the cakes look tasty. Bingsu is also hugely popular here in summer.

What is the Daenghaus&Bingsuking 2nd-floor mat play zone like?

The 2nd floor of Daenghaus&Bingsuking is a play zone with rubber mat flooring, great for dogs to run around. It has training gear and obstacles, plus supplies like pee pads, lint rollers, toys and water bowls. I was curious about the 2nd floor, so we went up, and the first thing I noticed was a sofa photo zone.

Dog Joy at the 2nd-floor sofa photo zone

Joy may have found it a bother, but I couldn't resist the cute sofa and snapped away.

By the way, the 3rd floor of Daenghaus&Bingsuking is a rooftop and daycare.

Dog supplies such as pee pads on the 2nd floor

The 2nd floor also has all kinds of supplies for dogs: pee pads, lint rollers, toys, water bowls and more.

We took our drinks and Joy's treat up to the 2nd floor, and Joy eagerly explored the mat play zone.

The floor is rubber matting, so it's a perfect environment for dogs to run around. There are various training items and obstacles too, so it looked like a good place to train and play with your dog.

Our Joy, though, wanted no training whatsoever, haha. She just likes to wander around freely. Still, she sat on a cushion and lay down for a comfy rest. I enjoyed a bit of reading too, and came home nicely recharged.
