Yeoksam Korean BBQ with chili-anchovy paste and aged galbi: Raviok
In short
Raviok Yeoksam Main Branch (라비옥 역삼본점) is an LA flower galbi Korean BBQ restaurant in a hanok-style space, in an alley near Exit 6 of Yeoksam Station in Gangnam, Seoul. At Raviok we ordered 3 servings of 28-day-aged snowflake jingalbi (beef short rib) roast and a spicy bibim kalguksu (mixed knife-cut noodles), and the chili-anchovy paste paired with the short rib meat was the most memorable part. Raviok Yeoksam Main Branch is a satisfying choice for a Yeoksam company dinner or date when both beef quality and atmosphere matter.

Raviok Yeoksam Main Branch (라비옥) is a Yeoksam Station beef restaurant that bills itself as Korea's only LA flower galbi (cross-cut short rib) specialist. You can enjoy beef and wine in a lovely space, so people come for company dinners, dates and family gatherings. This is my visit to a Yeoksam-dong beef spot with a stylish hanok-based interior and deeply flavorful galbi meat.
Where is Raviok Yeoksam Main Branch, and is there parking?
Raviok Yeoksam Main Branch is about 320m from Exit 6 of Yeoksam Station, roughly a 5-minute walk, between Yeoksam Station and Eonju Station.

Step into a side alley just off the main road and you'll find it in an older building with a retro feel. The hanok-based entrance was quite striking. Because of the terrain it can look like the 2nd floor from some angles, but from the entrance it's a ground-level layout, so strollers and wheelchairs looked relatively easy.

For parking, use the spaces beside the building between Lee Pil-nyeo Gukbap (이필녀국밥) and Trga (트르가). If they're full, the restaurant can guide you, so access was pretty good for a Yeoksam Station BBQ place. Corkage is free, and pets are reportedly welcome too.
Is Raviok's hanok-style interior good for company dinners and dates?

Raviok is a cozy hanok-based space where you can enjoy wine too.

Inside, the warmth of a hanok blends with an oriental charm. Casually placed wine bottles double as natural decor and make the mood even more special.

Above all, the green view outside the window stood out. It's hard to believe you're in the middle of Gangnam, and it felt more like a nice restaurant than a BBQ place. Spaces big and small are divided neatly by partitions, so a private meal is possible too.

It looks good for family gatherings, dates and company dinners, so I think it suits anyone hunting for a Yeoksam spot for a group meal.
Raviok menu and what we ordered

The menu at Raviok Yeoksam Main Branch centers on LA galbi and galbi meat, available marinated or raw. There's a good variety of meal dishes, and the weekday lunch lineup is solid, so I imagine lots of nearby office workers drop in.

Raviok specializes in LA flower galbi, which has a different appeal from regular galbi meat. It's juicy, with a good balance of fat and lean, so you really taste the beef itself. I think anyone looking for a Yeoksam-dong beef restaurant would like it.

We ordered the signature snowflake jingalbi roast for 3 and a spicy bibim kalguksu (spicy mixed knife-cut noodles). With so many meal options, a party of two could mix and match meat and meal dishes! We went heavy on the meat and picked just one meal dish. After some agonizing, the spicy bibim kalguksu turned out better than I expected.
Raviok's side dishes and chili-anchovy paste

The basic table setting centered on a fresh salad, kimchi and a few dipping seasonings.

Besides salt and fresh wasabi, there was also a unique paste made from ground chili and anchovy. It felt unfamiliar at first, but it went surprisingly well with the meat, and I remembered it afterward.
How does Raviok's 28-day-aged snowflake jingalbi taste?

The snowflake jingalbi roast for 3 that we ordered.

They say the snowflake jingalbi roast uses only the lean part of beef rib bones no. 6, 7 and 8, trimmed and then aged 28 days with the house method to bring out deep flavor and plenty of juice.

The meat is first grilled in the kitchen, then finished once more at the table, and at the end they add a fire show for that smoky char flavor.

Finished with a light sprinkle of pepper, the meat looked absolutely full of juice. The thickly sliced galbi had smoke and beefy aroma blending naturally into deep flavor, and the texture was great: moist and tender, yet still with that galbi chewiness. With the dipping seasonings it felt like a whole different dish.

The chili-anchovy paste was especially impressive. It pairs surprisingly well with beef, giving a unique yet high-end flavor combination.

Together with the beef and side dishes, it was plenty for a filling meal.
What does Raviok's spicy bibim kalguksu taste like?

The spicy bibim kalguksu we ordered as our meal dish.

At BBQ places you usually pick bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles), so bibim kalguksu at Raviok was a unique twist. Thick kalguksu noodles in a spicy, sweet-and-sour sauce made it satisfyingly chewy, and it matched really well with the house sauce aged for 3+ days.

I think it's a distinctive meal dish you can only enjoy at Raviok.😉
Verdict: is Raviok Yeoksam Main Branch worth it for Korean BBQ in Seoul?
If you're looking for Yeoksam Station Korean BBQ, Raviok Yeoksam Main Branch is worth a visit at least once. In a lovely hanok-style space we enjoyed 28-day-aged snowflake jingalbi roast, and with a range of meal dishes too, it works well for both eating and gatherings. If beef quality and atmosphere both matter to you, this Yeoksam-dong BBQ spot should satisfy. And if you want a nice place for a Yeoksam company dinner, it's worth a try🙂
