Couple's post-fishing chicken hot pot set, Daegu: Golmok Naengmyeon
In short
Golmok Naengmyeon 1966 Daegu is a naengmyeon (cold noodle) and dakhanmari (whole chicken hot pot) restaurant on Deuran-gil in Suseong, Daegu. During a week under a cold-wave advisory, a couple worn out from fishing had the dakhanmari set for lunch: broth poured over minced garlic, then kalguksu noodles and dumplings to finish, so generous that the two of them left chicken behind. Golmok Naengmyeon 1966 Daegu is worth recommending as a warming Deuran-gil lunch on a cold day.

I mean, it only just got cool, and now there's a cold-wave warning?!! Is this for real?!?! Last week my husband and I were wondering what to eat, and we've both been worn out from all the fishing lately... He said he felt a cold coming on and wanted something hot! And then we saw this banner!!!

Whaaat~!! That's the place we loved for its seafood-broth naengmyeon (cold noodles), and now they have dakhanmari (whole chicken hot pot)!?!? Honey, chicken is a warming health food, so let's eat that.
Where is Golmok Naengmyeon 1966 Daegu, and is there parking?
Golmok Naengmyeon 1966 Daegu is on Deuran-gil in Suseong, and it has its own parking lot! There was also a sign saying you can park at the neighboring place (a restaurant that opens later) at lunch, so it's clearly got a reputation as a Deuran-gil lunch spot. Knew it!!
Golmok Naengmyeon 1966 interior and menu
Naengmyeon is the signboard dish, but there are hot items like kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup), mandutguk (dumpling soup) and dakhanmari, so it works for a winter lunch too. There was a cute event at the entrance. On this day the leaves outside the window were still green.. less than a week later those leaves are turning into street trash.. haha
It was pretty busy that day, and the people next to us were office coworkers. Their lunch break was over but they hadn't finished eating, so they said they'd be a bit late.. hahaha With this weather, office workers were having a nice lunch of kalguksu or dumpling soup~~ Come here when you want something piping hot, even in winter~!

We went for the chicken hot pot! ... There's a set!? Then we're getting the set!! If you eat dakhanmari you can also have naengmyeon for dessert, which tempted me haha. Honestly I wanted it as a side of bibim naengmyeon....

Naengmyeon is the signboard, but there are also dishes for a hot bowl in winter, so it's fine all four seasons! But the potato pancake didn't look like that before! A potato pancake baked in a waffle pan!!!!! Ugh seriously... why are you doing this to me, so happily haha
A spotless restroom and a pleasant interior

The restroom at Golmok Naengmyeon 1966 smells of incense and even has mouthwash. I'd been out that morning, so I went in, and the matte faucet was so pretty that I photographed it haha. A nice scent the moment you step in, plus mouthwash. So thoughtful!!
How is the dakhanmari set served on a cold day?

When you order the chicken hot pot at Golmok Naengmyeon 1966, they set the table like this~! They bring a tray with personal tongs, cooking tongs and a ladle, which is even better! A bone bowl and kimchi come too~

There's a salad bar to help yourself, and you can make the sauce however you like^^ When you come to Golmok Naengmyeon 1966, be sure to warm your insides with the broth they simmer with care haha

It's here!!! A generous pot with a whole chicken in it. They pour the broth over the minced garlic on top, and the moment it hits, wow... this is amazing. The garlic aroma is so good~ The vegetables are fresh and plentiful too!
The problem was that we looked at it and were both shocked! Eek!! Isn't this too much?!? Can the two of us finish it? The staff member serving us said, just try it first ^^ Ooh.

How to eat dakhanmari: vegetables first, chicken after the 10-minute hourglass
Once it boils, take out the vegetables and dip them in the soy sauce, which is really good, then flip the 10-minute hourglass next to it and when it runs out you can eat the chicken too!
Ugh... seriously.. the broth .... is no joke! Cool-hot, my whole body loosened up~ Drinking this broth really feels like a health tonic... that's what I thought!! And the seasoned soy sauce is really good!! Not salty at all~~

There are soft rice cakes, and the potatoes are fluffy and delicious~ haha And the chicken, what can I even say...

Oh my, why did you scoop up so beautifully? hahaha

I dipped the chicken in the dadaegi (seasoning paste) and in the soy sauce, ......ugh............. the onion pickle is seriously amazing. Every combination is delicious!!

Finishing the dakhanmari set with kalguksu and dumplings
It's the chicken hot pot set, so in go the kalguksu noodles and dumplings! If the broth runs low, just ask and they'll give you more! If you want it spicy you can add dadaegi, or chopped cheongyang chili like I did haha. Even if you're too full to finish the meat, you know noodles are a different stomach, right?

Eaten with kimchi, then the dumplings one by one, with exceptionally juicy filling. For the chicken hot pot you can order extra vegetables, dumplings or noodles, and there's even finishing porridge~!! I wanted the porridge too.... but in good conscience we hadn't even finished the meat...
How were the service and portions at Golmok Naengmyeon 1966?

The owner of Golmok Naengmyeon 1966 is incredibly kind, and even while busy you can feel the careful attention, so I felt warm in body and heart~! When paying, they even told us to take dental floss haha. I just left without any, I paid, but my husband? When did he grab a candy? In the car he asked me to unwrap it because it wouldn't open haha. Chupa Chups are really hard to unwrap. hahahahahaha We ate it all up, of course.
The chicken hot pot set was so big that the two of us left meat behind. It was so so so so sad ㅠㅠ Two big-appetite men could eat their fill, and I think it's just right for three people too! And if it's not enough you can finish with the porridge~~~>///< I missed the finishing porridge so much that next time I'll bring one more person.. haha
Oh, and the naengmyeon at Golmok Naengmyeon 1966 is good too, but since it's cold, I think 3 or 4 people could come, order the chicken hot pot as the main, and add naengmyeon, potato pancake or dumpling soup as sides for a nicely varied meal! As I felt last time, you can really taste the care in the cooking.
Highly recommended as a Deuran-gil lunch spot! And of course dinner too!! haha The owner and staff are kind, even looking after children and pregnant women. This place is going to be a huge hit.. it's a Deuran-gil restaurant you can't help rooting for!!
