Daegu lash salon for a dark brown 9mm LED extension redo: Saero Beauty

Ahh, it's vacation season, isn't it? Where is everyone heading? I'm in study mode with my husband this vacation T_T And since I'll be meeting lots of people for the first time in a while, I'm also in beauty mode.. haha. I may not manage a diet, but I'm putting some effort into my lashes!!

Before.. my 2D lash extensions held up well, but as they fell out naturally.. did they fall out evenly? Haha, no. Maybe it's because I keep touching that area, haha. One side was missing a whole clump while the other side was still full, so messy...

Then I found out Saero Beauty (새로뷰티), a lash extension salon in Suseong, Daegu with tons of great reviews, so I got in touch! When I got a text saying "If you want to come today, 1 o'clock is the only slot ㅠㅠ", I just changed my clothes and headed out looking exactly like the housewife I was, haha.

Where is Saero Beauty, and what about parking and hours?

Saero Beauty is in the rear (south) gate shopping arcade at 19 Dalgubeol-daero 456-gil, Suseong-gu, Daegu, South Korea, and there's a parking lot beside the building. It's open every day, Monday through Sunday, 09:00–21:00, and is 100% by appointment.

I went in through the apartment complex, so I parked there, but there's also a lot beside the building! When I asked the owner, she said parking at the apartment is fine too~

Amazing days and hours!! But since it's 100% by appointment, when I opened Naver Booking... wait, the hours are this long! And they're open on weekends too! But weekends fill up super fast ㅠㅠ and even weekdays had only scattered slots... Why I retried LED extensions at Saero Beauty after a failure

Saero Beauty says it's in its 4th year of offering LED extensions, with over 2,000 treatments every year. The owner is also a chief LED judge at an international beauty art contest, they say. Amazing, right?

I once had LED done badly elsewhere, and when I sneezed and squeezed my eyes shut, my eyelids stung so much that I took them all off, and after that I decided I'd just stick with glue. People say LED lasts longer, but others say it's about the same, and LED is hard to remove, so I thought I'd just go with glue~ but the owner's dazzling résumé fired up my urge to try again!!

The schedule was r-e-a-l-l-y packed full that day, with customers right before and after me! So I had no energy to go photograph the treatment room, haha. Wow.. sorry to the owner, but who cares about interior photos? What matters is the lash design I'm walking out with, hahaha.

Does lash removal at Saero Beauty hurt?

At Saero Beauty, the owner applied remover, let it soak in thoroughly, and gently peeled off my old extensions, so there was no irritation at all. Removal is free when you get a new set; removal only costs ₩5,000 if you got them done at Saero Beauty, or ₩10,000 if you got them elsewhere.

After removing my leftover extensions, I asked her to take one photo of my bare lashes, since I'm on a lash-growing project and wanted to check, haha. I always felt a prickly sting during removal, but at Saero Beauty there was truly no irritation! Every single lash is precious to me, so I was touched~~

Removal isn't expensive either, so even if you get LED, you can just come to Saero Beauty and pay ₩5,000 to have it removed~>ㅇ<

Still, I keep using lash serum, and thanks to the extensions I really don't rub my eyes, so my lashes are growing... but on my lower lashes, while the others grow like little babies, there's one spot that won't grow no matter what I apply... sob.

Which design did I choose for natural-looking lash extensions?

After talking with the owner of Saero Beauty, I got LED extensions in dark brown, 9mm, standard thickness, filling only 70–80% of the total. I have straight lashes and spring warm tone coloring, so my eyes easily look heavy, and I wanted the most natural design possible.

I'm the straight type, so even a little makes me look heavy, right? But I'm also a spring warm, so natural is what suits me ㅠㅠ Even my base makeup... if I pat on the powder a few more times, my husband says my makeup is thick... So I told every owner what I always say: "As natural as possible, please make it so nobody notices they're extensions~"

• Color: dark brown
• Length: I'd always done 10mm, but I told her the point about 1/3 of the way in from the outer corner always looked unnatural, so she suggested 9mm all the way
• Thickness: she recommended standard thickness, saying thin doesn't mean unnoticeable and can actually look messier

What do you think? It's not the thinnest, but isn't it so natural? My first extensions after being diagnosed with lash hair loss looked really natural and pretty, but after that, no matter how thin I went, my eyes looked a bit sharper at first. After a week they'd become exactly the style I wanted and I was happy, but I wanted to look pretty right away, so I even went back to the place where I got my first set on purpose, and still it wasn't quite that first feeling... Maybe it's because I don't rub my lashes anymore, so I have more of them now...

Oh my, I was a bit nervous because the thickness wasn't the thinnest, but I love it so much, and that last 1/3 point that always felt too glamorous is just right, with a slightly cutesy touch but natural!! I'm moved...

This time the owner filled just 70–80% for ultimate naturalness, and the good thing is that she skipped lashes with a strong will of their own from my perm, and lone lashes sitting high up that stick out when extended, so it looks more natural and is easier to maintain!

When I got home, my husband said it looked natural from day one~ like they were just my own lashes, and he loved it! He likes natural looks too, so whenever I come back with extensions I reassure him, "Honey! It's to make up for the few that'll fall out after a week!" haha.

Were LED extensions okay after exercise and a shower on the same day?

On the evening of the day I got LED extensions at Saero Beauty, I played badminton until I was sweating and then showered, and my lashes were totally fine. There was no foreign-body feeling from the LED at all.

Tada~ It's not a pretty photo, but I'm attaching it. The reason: LED extensions!! Wow, that day I went to badminton at a new gym, and it was hotter than outside, I was already sweating while changing shoes, a record-breaking session. Normally you're supposed to avoid intense exercise and showers on the day of extensions, so I'd picked a non-badminton day, but that very evening I worked out until I was sweating like this and even showered! They're totally fine~~~!!!

If you look closely in the mirror, you can see something rounded and beaded up, and I realized, ah, that's the LED cured~~ I was truly so satisfied! I don't have to worry as much about makeup or cleansing, and summer vacation means water play, right? We have water activities planned too, and LED extensions reportedly last longer than regular ones, up to 6 weeks, so I think I can just get this done and go!!

Do your natural lashes come out when LED extensions fall off?

I got LED extensions at Saero Beauty on Tuesday, and on Saturday evening a few extensions fell off, but only the extension popped off and my own lashes weren't pulled out.

I washed my face too fearlessly and one lash popped off! Oh!! It really felt like a pop!! But maybe because it's LED, the extension just dropped off and my own lash wasn't pulled out!! Then when I brushed against the pillow lying on my side, pop again! Looking closely, my lash wasn't pulled out and only the extension came off...

I... fell in love with LED extensions...
