Gyeongsan pork BBQ weekend lunch with extra meat: Kkotdwaeji Sikdang

In short

Kkotdwaeji Sikdang Gyeongsan Branch is a pork BBQ restaurant on Seongam-ro in Gyeongsan, Gyeongbuk, where staff grill the meat for you. On a weekend afternoon the writer ordered the Gourmet Set of special pork belly, pork neck and pork jowl, added another round of meat because it tasted so good, and finished with fried rice and doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew). The 7 seasoning options, including salt, soybean powder, curry powder and wasabi, plus the large lot behind the building, made Kkotdwaeji Sikdang an easy Gyeongsan recommendation.

I visited Kkotdwaeji Sikdang Gyeongsan Branch, a Gyeongsan restaurant famous for its pork belly!

Since it's such a popular meat restaurant, there were already guests even though I went a bit early on the weekend. The place is a pork belly spot, but it didn't feel cramped at all — it felt open and comfortable, which made the meal even more relaxing.

Let me show you the menu of this Gyeongsan restaurant below!

You can order à la carte too, but the set menus were so good. The Gourmet Set, mixed grilled beef tripe platter, and Kkotdwaeji mixed grill platter are all great combos — definitely try one if you're visiting as a group!

À la carte pork belly and pork neck with meal menu board

Even the à la carte pork belly and pork neck were reasonably priced at around ₩13,000. There are also specialty cuts like gabrisal (skirt-adjacent cut) and hangjeongsal (pork jowl), so it's a great restaurant for ordering a variety and grilling them all together!

The meal menu also has a wide range of side dishes, but the fried rice you make after eating the meat is especially delicious — you have to try it ^^ There were tons of meal options: mayo rice balls, mul-naengmyeon (cold noodle soup), snow cheese sarichi, bibim-naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles), chadol doenjang jjigae, and doenjang jjigae!

I've been to other Kkotdwaeji Sikdang branches a few times, and I always love how everything comes already grilled so all you have to do is eat right away — I stopped by while driving around Gyeongsan and was genuinely satisfied with this Gyeongsan restaurant.

Side dishes and the 7 seasonings to pair with the pork

Right after ordering, they set the table with a variety of sauces and side dishes!

Plate of Sangju-style geotjeori, onion sauce and other side dishes

Tangy Sangju-style geotjeori (fresh kimchi) and onion sauce, plus various pickles and seasonings, all came neatly arranged on one plate.

7 sauces plated out for tasting

The sauces especially stood out — including salt and the basic seasoning, there were a whopping 7 combinations to try. Soybean powder, curry powder, ssamjang (dipping paste), fermented seafood, even wasabi — such a wide variety at this restaurant.

You just scoop a little of each onto your plate like this! Having so many different sauces provided together meant I could try all sorts of combinations — such a great Gyeongsan restaurant for that.

Fresh wrapping vegetables provided with the meal

Fresh wrapping vegetables were also provided :)

What comes in the Gourmet Set?

The Gourmet Set is ₩65,000.

Raw cuts of the Gourmet Set: special belly, neck, and jowl

The Gourmet Set is a generous combination of special pork belly + special pork neck + special jowl + gochujang sauce + garnish.

Bouncy complimentary steamed egg

While you enjoy the complimentary steamed egg, the staff grill the meat and bring it to you directly. The steamed egg was bouncy and delicious too :)

Generously grilled Gourmet Set platter

The Gourmet Set arrived looking incredibly generous! Doesn't it look amazing?

Garnishes served alongside the Gourmet Set

Various garnishes are served alongside so you can eat all sorts of things together — if you're visiting with a group, ordering the Gourmet Set first seems like the way to go!

Chives, gat kimchi, and bean sprouts grilled together

Chives, gat kimchi (mustard leaf kimchi), regular kimchi, and bean sprouts all come already grilled, so you just eat them together with the meat.

Grilled mushrooms, tomato, and rice cake garnish
Grilled asparagus and other vegetable garnish

Mushrooms, sweet potato, grilled tomato and rice cake, asparagus, and more all came together — it looked so delicious!

First piece of pork belly dipped in salt

First bite with salt, then an extra meat order

They recommended dipping the first piece in salt only, so that's what I did. It was so tender, the pork belly just melted!

I've eaten meat quite often lately, but this was the most tender I've had recently :)

The jowl also had that distinct texture I love, and I left completely full.

I ended up ordering extra meat — that's how delicious it was ^^

The wasabi cut through the fattiness of the pork belly nicely, making it taste clean and light.

Extra meat order after the main platter

Finishing with fried rice and doenjang jjigae

I was already full, but I was curious about the fried rice, so I ordered that along with doenjang jjigae too.

Fried rice cooked on the stone plate

The fried rice's seasoning was so good — it wasn't just rice and kimchi, it was genuinely delicious! Adding cheese sarichi on top would make it even more savory :)

A Gyeongsan pork belly restaurant that satisfied the whole family — I highly recommend Kkotdwaeji Sikdang ❤️
