The entrance: Thursday party on the 1st floor, Yuumangju on the 2nd
Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch is on the 2nd floor of the building, with Thursday party on the 1st floor. The entrance looks grand and hip at first glance, and it really catches the eye.

Under bright lighting, the neat signboard and exterior design welcome visitors nicely. Right by the entrance there's a banner where you can preview the signature menu items and popular dishes at a glance.

Just looking at the appetizing photos on the banner makes your mouth water.

Head up the stairs above.

Inside Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch and the window seats
The inside of Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch is a spacious, comfortable and stylish hall. A modern, dark-toned interior with soft lighting sets a mood that's perfect for clinking glasses.

The tables are generously spaced, so you can chat and drink comfortably without worrying about the people around you.

The window seats have fresh green plant decorations above them, giving a cozy, atmospheric feel.

Sitting at the open window and watching Seomyeon's lively night street outside is a lot of fun too.

Once seated, I opened the menu and agonized over which tasty dishes to order.

What's on the menu at Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch?
The main menu is packed with distinctive dishes you can't easily find elsewhere, including butter-grilled cuttlefish with intestines and scallops, jjuballl yukhoe (seasoned raw beef), shrimp-jang galbi-bibim, and kimchi daedori-tang (a spicy stew) on a stone plate.

The side menu offers a wide range: seafood and chive jeon (savory pancake), cheese bomb potato jeon, buldak egg jeon, pepperoni cream pasta, tomato pasta, and even sweet bingsu (shaved ice) varieties.

The drinks menu has a solid lineup: soju and beer of course, plus fruit soju, highballs, and handmade draft makgeolli (rice wine), so you can choose by taste.

Complimentary garlic butter bread and two sauces
After you order, the first thing set on the table is a complimentary crispy, savory bread appetizer.

The golden-brown garlic butter bread is sweet and crunchy, and it perks up your appetite in no time before the main dish arrives.

Two neat sauces also come out to go with your dishes, making the table feel even fuller. The sweet-spicy house sauce and the soy sauce with sliced cheongyang chili (a hot Korean pepper), which adds a sharp kick, pair well with just about any dish.
Saero soju with lemon slices
For drinks, I ordered Saero soju and lemon slices.

With the lemon, the strong taste of the soju disappears, and I didn't get a hangover either.
How is the butter-grilled cuttlefish with intestines and scallops?
The butter-grilled cuttlefish with intestines and scallops comes on a big stone plate and sizzles at the table. It was the main dish that day. Plump cuttlefish, ultra-rich daechang (beef intestines) and tender scallops cook together with butter, sizzling away on the stone plate.

The cuttlefish is big and plump, isn't it?

Dip the bouncy, butter-scented scallops and chewy intestines in the spicy sauce, pop them in your mouth, and how good do you think that is!

With the generous portion and deep flavor filling your mouth, it felt like I'd found the kind of dish that makes the drinks go down easily.
