Otter Rabbit House Jongno Branch location and exterior in Daegu
It is right next to Manggyeonggwan Cinema, so it was easy to get to—and it is near Jungangno Station too, I guess? Haha. I went in the afternoon, and this neighborhood had such a relaxed feel that I thought it was the perfect area for brunch 😙
The Nordic mood is already in the air when you arrive!! It is a cute, warm-looking building that feels like it could be somewhere in Europe.

The pretty beige-brick exterior photographs so well, and the atmosphere is lovely from the moment you walk in, so I think it is really perfect for a date ><
Inside Otter Rabbit House Jongno Branch and its seating
As soon as you step inside, it is decorated in white and beige tones to match the exterior bricks!! All the chefs were wearing matching uniforms too, so it felt like I had come to a proper restaurant 😌
Even though I went in the late afternoon, it was already full of people because it is a brunch spot. Luckily, there is plenty of capacity, so we got a two-person table.

There is also a bar table by the kitchen, which is perfect if you are dining alone with coffee, dessert, or even brunch 🙂↕️

There are lots of seats on the other side too!! There are roughly eight or nine two-person tables, and they will push tables together for groups of four or more.
A menu with coffee, brunch, and wine

As befits a brunch café, this place is seriously great for coffee first of all 🥹 You know the classic pairing of sweet French toast and an iced Americano, right? 🤤 Next winter, I am going to try a warm latte >< They also have chocolate lattes, matcha lattes, plum tea, and vin chaud for people who do not drink coffee, so there is plenty to enjoy.

For brunch, they have proper meal options like flat-iron steak, lasagna, and arugula-jambon pizza, just like a regular Western restaurant. But you absolutely have to order the French toast, which is the best match for coffee!!! There is cherry bingsu (shaved ice dessert), fresh-squeezed orange juice, and brownie cake too ✨

Especially since it stays open until 10 p.m., coming in the evening for steak with wine could not be better… right? The wine prices are not too intimidating either, so I recommend pairing one to your taste. Totally ideal for a date ✨
For our slightly late lunch, we ordered spicy clam broth pasta for ₩16,000, cheese bacon French toast for ₩13,000, and two iced Americanos for ₩3,800!! Why is the coffee so cheap…
Nutty iced Americanos and clam broth pasta

We started with coffee!! If you ask for it with brunch, they bring it with the food. But we were thirsty… 😅

Coffee this good in the ₩3,000 range at a trendy café these days… and downtown, too. It had no acidity and a nutty flavor—the kind of classic coffee that goes with any brunch, which I loved.

Finally, the spicy clam broth pasta came out!! My boyfriend and I both really love pasta with clams, so we ordered it without a second thought haha.

But wait, what… it was so delicious. Rich broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and clean-tasting clams.

It is pasta, but the broth is clear and thin, so it somehow also feels like noodle soup. But that made it even more our style!! When you put a plump, perfectly sand-free clam on noodles cooked just right, how good is that… It is a flavor everyone, young or old, would enjoy.
The bowl was deeper than it looked, so there was a really generous amount of noodles too!! Both my boyfriend and I ate until we were full 😚
Cheese bacon French toast with overflowing cheese
Next, the long-awaited cheese-bomb bacon French toast… Yes… I am the one who added the word “bomb.” The portion is enormous ㅠㅠㅠ
Can you see that thickness? Haha. It was so thick when it arrived that I was like, what is this? The fork was not even a regular fork—it was a huge one—and the toast still beat it in thickness… I have never seen French toast like this.

Bacon wrapped all around the toast, with caramel sauce absolutely drenched around it… The visuals were shocking, but the taste was even more shocking ㅠㅠㅠ It is the kind of thing I would tell you to definitely try if you come to Daegu.
Let’s cut it. Can you see the cheese in the cross-section… As soon as I cut it, I thought it would just be bread inside, but suddenly yellow cheese poured out everywhere, which totally surprised me 🥹

It seemed to be packed with different cheeses—cheddar and mozzarella and so on(?)—and as a cheese fanatic, my eyes got huge the moment I tasted that full-on cheesy flavor… Ah, everyone needs to try this.

Of course, it is the GOAT pairing with an iced Americano. Add the minced garlic sauce on top of the bread, and it is not greasy at all—the sweet-and-salty balance is insane.

The portions were so generous that even us big-eating couple walked out rubbing our bellies… haha. Honestly, I rarely get full after brunch at a brunch place, but here it actually felt like great value for the portion 😌 Next time, I am definitely coming in the evening for a glass of wine… 🙏
And to finish: the clean, comfortable restroom inside!!

I heard it had just opened, so I ran straight over, and wow—the chef was so kind and so serious about the food… The coffee was good, the prices were reasonable… whew, haha. Anyway, cutting to the chase, please order the bacon cheese French toast. If you do not like cheese (why not?), have the clam pasta; if you love cheese (obviously), try the bacon cheese French toast. The food was so satisfying and the café was so pretty that I felt happy the whole time I ate. I highly, highly recommend Otter Rabbit House Jongno Branch.
