A gem of a Seongsu café I found on a Seoul Forest date after a long while! A dessert place I'd happily revisit with my own money, 100000000%. Let me introduce Notldun, let's go ❤️

Notldun hours, parking, restroom and takeout

The Seongsu café Notldun is open Mon–Thu 11:00–22:00 and Fri–Sun 11:00–22:30. There's no parking at the shop, so use the nearby Ttukseom Yuseji public parking lot instead.

What's the atmosphere at Notldun in Seongsu?

You can see the desserts being made at Notldun, which made me feel even more reassured. Looking at the autographs on the glass window, lots of well-known people have visited, and the one that caught my eye was from the baking YouTuber Zador. Haha.

Aren't Notldun's cakes basically hotel dessert cakes in looks..? They're so pretty ㅠㅠෆ

As a kid, thanks to the anime Kkumbit Patissier, I once dreamed of becoming a pastry chef.. Memories came flooding back, and these desserts looked like they came from a proper pastry boutique.

What I ordered at Notldun on my Seoul Forest date

At Notldun we ate two cakes and two drinks, and I took one drink to go on the way out. Here's what I ordered:

The desserts come with a prettily set fork and knife, which put me in a good mood. Notldun in Seongsu ·· ෆ

How does the Forêt Noire cake taste?

Notldun's Forêt Noire combines peak fluffiness, dark chocolate richness and sweet-tart cherry. Chocolate can get tiresome halfway through, but the tangy cherry keeps it in check, and I loved that pairing.

What is Notldun's Signature Blanc?

Notldun's Signature Blanc is a dessert made only of cream, with no cake sponge. It blends sweet, smooth white chocolate cream with sweet-tart cherry and nutty pistachio. The pistachio isn't strong, which actually made it feel more harmonious.

Valrhona Guanaja mocha and vanilla Earl Grey milk tea

Notldun's Valrhona Guanaja mocha has the thick, deep aroma and flavor of dark chocolate, blended with bitter coffee, and I really enjoyed it. I'd never had coffee like this before Notldun..!

The vanilla Earl Grey milk tea was supremely fragrant, and I think it was maybe brewed with TWG? (I saw the tea bag packaging.) I'm a milk tea person, so I really enjoyed this one too.

Takeout Valrhona Guanaja dark chocolate latte

I fell for the rich, fudgy charm of Valrhona Guanaja and couldn't resist taking a Valrhona Guanaja dark chocolate latte to go on my way out - ෆ It has lettering on the cream foam, which makes it look even more upscale. From the first sip it's intensely thick and fudgy, and the chocolate ratio felt very high. Love chocolate? You must try this one.

Is Notldun in Seongsu worth going back to?

Hotel desserts, step aside: Notldun in Seongsu!

Notldun is honestly a dessert place I want to keep to myself... sigh... but I'm posting it for the public good.. A Seongsu dessert spot that's strong overall, not just in looks but in taste, texture, ingredients and mood! It's near Seoul Forest, so it's a great location for a date course. Notldun, the Seongsu café, please go at least once! Totally recommend! And that's the end of today's big Seongsu food adventure!
