In short

Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch is a newly opened grade-1 Korean pork belly restaurant in Dujeong-dong, Cheonan. The order was Boseong green pork samgyeopsal at ₩16,000, kimchi jjigae at ₩7,000 and a bowl of rice at ₩1,000, and the opening event brought a third serving free with two ordered, all grilled at the table by staff over a rice-husk-smoked pan. The potato wrap, which uses grilled potato slices in place of lettuce, is the dish that makes Cham Dwaejitgan worth a return visit.

What kind of restaurant is Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch?

Today's review is from a newly opened BBQ restaurant in Dujeong-dong, Cheonan called Cham Dwaejitgan. It specializes in domestic grade-1 pork belly, using only grade-1 Boseong green pork — pigs raised on Jirisan black pork lineage and fed green tea. Parking is either right in front of the restaurant or in the nearby side streets.

Cham Dwaejitgan has seating for up to 60 people, and corkage is free!

Here's a look at the interior. It felt really clean and tidy, with plenty of tables and a nice atmosphere — great for a gathering spot or family meal. High chairs are available too, of course.

And there are phone chargers set up at the tables too, so you can charge your phone while you eat.

Menu and opening event: order two servings, get one free

There's Boseong green pork samgyeopsal (pork belly), kkotmoksal (flower pork neck), cheonjeopsal (thousand-layer pork belly), gabrisal (pork skirt), plus Jirisan black pork ogyeopsal (five-layer pork belly) and pork neck — six options in all. As it happened, an opening event was running: order 2 servings of meat and get 1 free, which was such a great deal! Just note the event only runs through the end of this month. We ordered the samgyeopsal, kimchi jjigae, and rice.

They also said that if you participate in the Naver receipt review event or the Instagram event, you get a free drink or fried rice as a service.

Cham Dwaejitgan smokes the meat over rice husks for extra flavor and grills it over charcoal to keep the texture tender.

Side dishes and what we ordered at Cham Dwaejitgan

As soon as we ordered, they got the side dishes ready, and put minari (water celery), seasoned bean sprouts, and kimchi on the grill for us to cook. On top of that, they set out wrap vegetables, salad, sliced scallions, and various sauces. If you need more side dishes or utensils, there's a self-service bar.

How three servings of Boseong green pork samgyeopsal arrive

Here's the Boseong green pork samgyeopsal we ordered. It came out as 3 full slabs of meat, for 3 servings total! Along with the pork belly, they also added potato slices, king oyster mushrooms, and shishito peppers to the grill.

You can just tell the meat quality is good, right?

Staff grill the pork belly for you at the table

One thing I really liked was the grilling service — staff grill the meat for you themselves. They cook it to the perfect doneness, so you can just chat comfortably and wait.

Another thing I liked was how much there was to pair with the meat. I personally love grilled kimchi or bean sprouts as sides, and here minari, potato, and mushrooms all come as standard — such a great deal! As the meat cooks and the fat drips down, that same fat is used to grill the vegetables.

The pan was piled high — just looking at it made me happy...

How did the Boseong green pork taste?

It had been a while since I'd had samgyeopsal, and this had great juices, with a nice balance of lean meat to fat, making it savory and delicious. The texture was especially soft, which I loved.

Pairing it with fragrant minari made it even more enjoyable.

The potato wrap that only Cham Dwaejitgan serves

And there was a unique wrap unique to Cham Dwaejitgan — the potato wrap. You take a well-grilled potato slice and top it with pork belly, mushroom, wasabi, and pickled garlic. This was unusual but genuinely a real treat.

Finishing with kimchi jjigae and fried rice

Kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) is a must with samgyeopsal, and this one was loaded with tofu and meat, slightly spicy, and paired perfectly with the rich pork belly.

And of course samgyeopsal has to end with fried rice! We saved a little meat to mix in, and even though we were already full, we kept eating. Note that you can also get this as a free item through the review event!

Lastly, they had a yogurt drink ready for dessert. On top of that, they thoughtfully had mouthwash, alcohol swabs, candy, and fabric deodorizer at the self-bar — Cham Dwaejitgan really thought of everything!! It was our first visit, the meat was delicious, and the place was clean — somewhere I'd want to come back to. If you're looking for a BBQ spot or a place for a work dinner in Dujeong-dong, Cheonan, it's worth a stop!
