Jonggak Station beef and lamb BBQ with highballs: Yukrab Jongno
In short
Yukrab Jongno is a beef and lamb Korean BBQ restaurant on the 3rd floor of a building, a 3-minute walk from Jonggak Station in Jongno, Seoul. Two women ordered the 2-person Yukrab set (₩67,000) and grilled jingalbisal (beef rib finger meat), toshisal (hanger steak) and lamb chops in that order with highballs; the jingalbisal was the best, and the many sauces and seasonings kept the meal from getting heavy. With a spacious dining room and private rooms for 4 to 11 people, Yukrab Jongno is a solid pick for a group dinner near Jonggak Station.

How far is Yukrab Jongno from Jonggak Station?
Yukrab Jongno is on the 3rd floor of a building about a 3–5 minute walk from Jonggak Station. Just note that it's on the 3rd floor ✔️ The elevator works well, so it's a good place to bring older family members.
Yukrab Jongno seating and private rooms
When you walk into Yukrab Jongno, the left side has 4-person tables and the right side has the rooms. The black interior plus the lighting gives it a really classy feel.

There are quite a few rooms, and they seat 4 to 11 people, so it's perfect for a group dinner near Jonggak Station. A private spot to enjoy a meal near Jonggak Station!

The regular tables include window seats too, so it felt open and airy. I booked ahead, and the side dishes were already set out. Top-notch thoughtfulness 👍🏻
Yukrab Jongno menu, highballs and other drinks

The meat menu! I had the 2-person Yukrab set, and my favorite part of it was the jingalbisal (beef short rib meat). Beef at this price, such good value.

Yukrab Jongno had a really wide range of drinks too. Highballs, gaoliang (Chinese liquor), even wine! If you don't drink much, go for a sweet highball! I think it's a good group dinner spot near Jonggak Station.

What side dishes, sauces and seasonings come with the BBQ?
At Yukrab Jongno the side dishes are set out in advance. I liked that there were lots of pickled items, which go really well with beef that can get heavy. On the right there's a variety of sauces: garlic sauce, wasabi, ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste) and whole grain mustard.

There were also seasonings that pair nicely with the lamb chops. Being able to enjoy the meat in so many flavors doubles the satisfaction! It looks even more packed in the video, haha.

Rice and stew are a must, of course. We got a generous bowl of rice, and the stew was loaded with ingredients, so I enjoyed it.

I ordered a highball too. With this atmosphere and this beef, I couldn't not order a drink!

What's in the ₩67,000 Yukrab set and which cut to grill first
The Yukrab set at Yukrab Jongno is ₩67,000 and comes with jingalbisal, toshisal (beef skirt) and lamb chops. It came out quickly after ordering, and I recommend eating in this order: jingalbisal → toshisal → lamb chops ✔️ It was a really sufficient amount for two women!
The meat quality was so good. Being able to try all three cuts especially meant I never got tired of it.
Jingalbisal (beef rib finger meat): best with salt and wasabi
Jingalbisal was the most tender cut in the Yukrab set!! Since it's beef, it cooks quickly, which is nice.

Jingalbisal with salt + wasabi is heavenly ❤️ Not tough at all, no off smell, and it chews so softly. It's cooked juicy and rich, so the texture is tender.
Toshisal (hanger steak): a lean, chewy beef cut

Toshisal comes from the inner part of the beef ribs, so it has little fat and a clean, light taste.

If jingalbisal melts in your mouth, toshisal is chewy + tender. It's relatively low in fat, so I liked that it doesn't get heavy compared with the other cuts.

Even with the same cut, the variety of seasonings, side dishes and sauces lets you taste different flavors, and that's the kick of Yukrab near Jonggak Station!!

The vegetables and cheese served alongside were tasty with the meat too. I recommend eating toshisal with the garlic sauce or the pickles.
Lamb chops: tender, no gamey smell, deboned by staff
The lamb chops in the Yukrab set barely had that typical lamb smell, which I loved. Once the lamb chops are fully cooked, a staff member cuts the meat off the bone for you, so they were easy to eat. The lamb wasn't tough either, just tender.
Is Yukrab Jongno a good group dinner spot near Jonggak Station?
It's hard to find a restaurant on the Jonggak streets that's this clean and can take a big group, right? You also get beef at a good price, and I was satisfied with every single thing, so if you're looking for a group dinner spot near Jonggak Station, I highly recommend Yukrab Jongno ⭐️
