Hekbap Konkuk University Main Branch (핵밥 건대본점) is a rice bowl and ramen restaurant on the 2nd floor on Neungdong-ro, near Konkuk Univ. Station in Seoul. Two diners ordered a cube steak rice bowl (12,900 won) and a Hanwoo daechang rice bowl (Korean beef large intestine, 13,900 won) on a tablet in the spacious dining room and were happy with the meat, the portions, the sides and the cheese rice cake dessert. With bowls just over 10,000 won, plenty of seating and solo dining tables, Hekbap Konkuk University Main Branch is an easy, no-fuss place for a meal.

Seoul Korean BBQ with a 20-minute evening wait: Sansol Sinnonhyeon

Sansol Sinnonhyeon is an aged pork BBQ restaurant on Gangnam-daero 112-gil, right in front of Sinnonhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Arriving at 7:20pm meant a 20-minute wait for a window table, where staff grilled the Sansol aged flower pork neck (150g, 17,000 won) and the limited-quantity samgaksal (150g, 17,000 won), served with country doenjang jjigae and kkakdugi fried rice. Between the Maldon salt, white aged kimchi and dressed lettuce, the wait at Sansol Sinnonhyeon made sense.
