Where is Smith's Farm, and can you park?
Smith's Farm (스미스씨네농장) is a Western restaurant a 5-minute walk from Exit 4 of Dongbaek Station in Haeundae, close to Handok Culture Girls' High School and Haerim Elementary School. You can park inside the exit-caution signs on both sides of the building, so it was convenient to come by car.
When you're looking for a Western restaurant with a nice atmosphere in Haeundae, you want good food and good vibes, right? Smith's Farm, where I went for a Haeundae group meal, is great for a relaxed meal with friends and for a date with a partner, and I left in a really good mood :)

Fairy-tale farm interior and the waiting service
From the outside to the inside, Smith's Farm is decorated in a cute, fairy-tale way to match its farm concept, and even early in the day it was popular as a Haeundae spot for group meals.

The inside feels like stepping into a little burrow, yet the high ceiling makes it feel open, and even the waiting seats are thoughtfully decorated, so waiting wouldn't be boring at all.

The careful parking guidance, and the service for people waiting (ade, iced Americano, carrot chocolate and so on), made it clear, even on my first visit, why it has so many regulars and why it's such a hot Haeundae spot for gatherings :)
Smith's Farm hours and seating: good for groups and dates?
Smith's Farm has no days off and no break time. It opens at 11am and closes at 10pm every day, but on Fridays and Saturdays it closes at midnight, so it seemed good for a late glass of wine too :) The clean atmosphere and stylish interior put me in a good mood the moment I walked in, and it's nice that the hours are all you need to remember before going.

As you'd expect from a well-known Haeundae Western restaurant, the interior is spacious and pleasant, so I felt comfortable throughout the meal, and the tables are spaced generously, which made it easy to talk.

The lighting is soft too, so the mood suits dates, family meals and get-togethers with friends alike.
- High chairs 👌
- Clean restroom 👌
- Group tables and sofa seats 👌
Even the restroom has plenty of photo-worthy spots. With its upscale interior, it felt like a place to enjoy an intimate meal in a different kind of atmosphere :)
Smith's Farm menu and price range
The Smith's Farm menu is mainly soup, salad, gnocchi (potato dumplings), rice, pasta, steak and pizza, plus desserts, draft beer, highballs and wine. You can cover everything from appetizers to dessert and drinks in one place.

For the service and atmosphere, prices are about the same as a typical casual restaurant, so they don't feel burdensome. And there are dishes you can only get here, like the stone octopus steak, gnocchi and salads, so if you hunt for unusual places in Haeundae, I'd really like you to visit once!

This time I ordered the stone octopus steak, grilled romaine and shrimp oil pasta. After I ordered, they put the bill in a cute paper bag along with a carrot. Aww, that was such a thoughtful touch.. 😊 The owner and the staff were also so good-looking that my boyfriend said they looked like celebrities about 5 times :)
Grilled romaine: how is it different from an ordinary salad?
The grilled romaine at Smith's Farm was the first dish out after ordering: crunchy romaine with chili-oil flavor, a special mayo sauce, a green sauce and bacon chips. I usually love romaine lettuce, and Smith's Farm has reinterpreted it like this.

I eat salad often, but this grilled romaine is clearly different from an ordinary salad. The romaine keeps its signature crunch, while the subtle chili-oil flavor, special mayo sauce and green sauce come together, and the sauces especially were JMT (Korean slang for "insanely delicious")!
The crunch of the bacon chips on top makes it filling even though it's a salad, and it went well with the octopus steak and pasta, cleansing the palate between the mains.

Smith's Farm also has its own special gnocchi, the stone octopus steak, a baby napa cabbage salad and more, and they say they use only fresh ingredients. The prices are reasonable, but the food felt healthy and tasty.
Sea! stone octopus steak: carrot purée and three sauces
The signature Sea! stone octopus steak at Smith's Farm is a big grilled stone octopus served with carrot purée, grilled garnish, and wasabi, wasabi mayo and chipotle sauces. The purée was so good, the colors were pretty and every ingredient was tasty, so I scraped up everything except the lemon.

As the signature dish of a Haeundae group-meal favorite, the octopus steak caught the eye from the very look of it.

The big octopus comes out grilled and easy to eat, and the chewy texture was really great, without a hint of toughness.
The Sea! stone octopus steak in particular felt extra special, because it's a dish you can't easily find at other Western restaurants.
The plain, clean taste of the octopus blended naturally with the smoky grill flavor. At first the portion looked small, but as I ate it filled me up more than I expected.

The sauces added savory depth too. When I got a little tired of plain octopus, dipping it in the wasabi, wasabi mayo or chipotle sauce was good as well. My top pick was the sweet carrot purée: the salty sauces and the sweet purée balance each other and give a much richer flavor!

So even though I'm not a big octopus fan, I cleared the whole plate and plan to go back for it :) Personally I also loved the grilled garnish of corn, broccoli, cherry tomatoes and mushrooms, so I'd definitely recommend this dish if you like seafood!
Shrimp oil pasta with adjustable spice: how was Shin Ramyun level?
The shrimp oil pasta at Smith's Farm lets you adjust the spice level, so I ordered Shin Ramyun level (about as hot as Shin Ramyun instant noodles), and it was just right, slightly spicy. It was the last dish to come out.

Even the color is the classic spicy oil pasta I love. It has plenty of plump shrimp, plus roasted garlic and garlic scapes (garlic stems), so the garlic flavor is really strong, which I liked.

The shrimp oil pasta also has zucchini and lemon zest. I liked the added zucchini texture, and it finished fresh rather than greasy, so I enjoyed it more than at other places.
Who is Smith's Farm good for?
I came to Smith's Farm for a Haeundae date. Besides the food quality, the space is big, so it's good for visiting with several people, and it's a great venue for meals with friends, family dinners, company dinners, birthday get-togethers and more.

The varied menu makes it easy to order to your taste, and the plating is pretty, so it's good for special days. I also recommend it for a blind date or an anniversary date! The mood was great throughout and every dish satisfied me, so I plan to come back on a special day :)
