Cold-water matcha soy milk: Garu Seonsaeng Jeju Matcha
In short
Garu Seonsaeng Ready-to-Mix Fresh Soy Milk Jeju Matcha is a powdered soy milk drink from Korea, sold in a box of seven sticks. I mixed it with cold water before workouts or when I was hungry after arriving at work on an empty stomach, and found it mildly sweet, smoothly blended, and pleasantly nutty.

Which flavor did I choose, and when did I drink it?
I drink coffee often, so I tend to look for something else in the afternoon. Garu Seonsaeng Ready-to-Mix Fresh Soy Milk comes in mugwort, black soybean, and matcha flavors, and I chose Jeju Matcha, which I already like. I mainly drank it before going to work out or when I was hungry after arriving at work on an empty stomach.

The clean package design caught my eye first. I checked the certificate of origin on the product page, which stated that it uses Jeju matcha.

What comes in a box, and is it easy to carry?
There are seven sticks in a box. Since each is individually packaged, I thought they would be easy to put in a bag for work or travel. I liked that I could make a drink with just water.

What does the product say about its ingredients and protein?
I also looked over the nutrition facts and ingredient list. The notes that it uses Korean soybeans and organic matcha, with no synthetic additives, stood out to me. I liked that the ingredient list was relatively simple.

It says that one serving contains 4.2 g of protein. I was happy that I could have some plant-based protein along with a drink when I felt hungry.

How much water should you add, and does it mix well in cold water?
I simply mixed the powder and water in a paper cup. It only requires 100–120 ml of water, so I could prepare it without a large glass.

The paper cup I used held 180 ml, and before mixing, the amount of powder seemed fairly generous. Because it is a powder, you can adjust the amount of water.

Even after adding cold water, it dissolved smoothly and mixed well. Once fully mixed, it became a deep matcha soy milk color.

How did the sweetness and matcha aroma taste?
The first sip had a subtle matcha aroma, followed naturally by the nutty flavor distinctive to soybeans. I do not usually like sweet drinks, and it was not overly sweet for my taste. I also did not notice an artificial aroma, so I could drink it without hesitation.
I first tried this product after receiving it, but it was nuttier and cleaner-tasting than I expected, so it suited my taste well. Since the sticks make it easy to prepare, I wanted to keep it at home and continue drinking it, and I became curious about the black soybean and mugwort flavors too.
