Matcha soy drink as a coffee alternative: Garuseonsaeng Jeju Matcha
In short
Garuseonsaeng Jeju Matcha Raw Soy Milk is a powdered soy-and-matcha drink sold in Korea. I tried it as an alternative to coffee and found it nutty even when mixed with water, with mild sweetness and a gentle matcha bitterness; dissolving the powder first and serving it over ice was my favorite method.

I drink coffee quite often, so I was looking for something else and tried Garuseonsaeng Jeju Matcha Raw Soy Milk. I usually enjoy matcha lattes, so I was curious about the combination of soybeans and matcha. This product was provided to me.

What comes in a box, and where was it sold?
Each box contains seven 20g sticks. As of Jun 28, 2026, when I wrote the original post, it was described as being sold in limited quantities only through Olive Better and the Olive Young online mall.

The information at the time also said that three varieties of Raw Soy Milk Powder would be discounted at Olive Better from Jul 10 to 19. I did not record the specific sale price in the original post.

What are the ingredients and protein content per stick?
I liked that the ingredient list was not complicated. According to the product information, it excludes artificial additives and uses Korean soybeans, organic matcha, sea salt, and unrefined raw sugar.

It was also described as containing the whole soybean, from the skin to the pulp. When I drank it, I could taste the matcha along with a satisfying fullness from the soybeans.

The listed protein content is 4.2g per stick. I found it easy to have as a light substitute for coffee or a snack.

I tend to get tired of protein shakes if I drink them occasionally, but I reached for this more often because I could drink it like a matcha beverage.

How does it taste mixed with water?
Add one stick to water, milk, or soy milk and mix well. The stick format made it convenient to keep in my bag for home, work, or travel.
I first tried it mixed with water. It was nuttier and cleaner-tasting than I expected, with the mild flavor of soy milk joined by matcha's characteristic gentle bitterness. The sweetness was also mild rather than strong.

How do you make it like an iced matcha latte?
My personal favorite method was to dissolve the powder first, then drink it iced.
- Add just a little hot water and dissolve the powder first.
- Add plenty of ice.
- Pour in cold water or milk and mix.
Water worked well when I wanted a light flavor. When I wanted something smoother and richer, I preferred mixing it with milk or soy milk.

How sweet was it, and did it leave a chalky aftertaste?
The first taste was nutty, followed by a gentle rise in matcha bitterness. The sweetness was not excessive for my taste, which made it easy to keep drinking, and it left less of a chalky feeling in my mouth.

I was satisfied because I could taste both the matcha and the nutty soybeans. I also liked the ingredient list and convenient stick format, and it suited me as a drink to have instead of coffee.
