Index-finger Amelia friendship rings at Seongsu ring workshop Robenta

I wanted to make a special memory with my friend of 10 years, so we went to the ring workshop Robenta in Seongsu :) We'd often said we wanted to get a friendship ring, and our schedules finally lined up, so we went together!

Robenta Seongsu location, hours and parking

Robenta Seongsu is at 301, 19 Yeonmujang 13-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, just a 5-minute walk from Seongsu Station!! The location is great. It's open daily from 11:00 to 19:30.

There's no parking at Robenta Seongsu, so I'd recommend a nearby car park.

• Factorial Seongsu (10-minute walk to Robenta) — ₩3,500 for 1 hour or ₩18,000 for an all-day pass if bought through the Modu-ui Jucha-jang app
• The Live Sejong Tower underground car park in Seongsu (right next to Robenta) — ₩6,000 for 1 hour, ₩30,000 all day

It's on the 3rd floor of this building.

The workshop was cozy and tidy, which I loved. Best of all, the staff and instructors welcomed us so kindly that my nerves disappeared right away 😆

Why we chose Robenta among Seongsu ring workshops

The biggest reason I chose Robenta Seongsu is the quality of the finished rings. On its Instagram, Robenta describes its designs as carrying "the sense and philosophy of a jewelry designer with 30 years of experience."

There are plenty of ring workshops in Seongsu and Konkuk University, but in the review photos the designs looked clean and the finishing really pretty. I also liked that they use top-grade silver and moissanite diamonds (not ordinary cubic zirconia) 🙈 Even when you wear it out, it doesn't feel like a workshop souvenir but like brand jewelry, so my expectations were high 🤭🩵

This is how Robenta Seongsu's prices look. They seemed higher than in other bloggers' reviews, so I asked, and they said the price list now includes the VAT that used to be charged separately :)

Choosing the Amelia design for friendship rings from 24 options

Robenta Seongsu has a whopping 24 ring designs. Time to choose, my heart is pounding ✨ How do you even pick??

They were all so pretty that I was torn, but after trying on every sample one by one, I could clearly see which ones suited me, which were so-so, and which didn't suit me at all 🤣

Since these are friendship rings, we picked designs that would suit both of us: Obelia and Amelia ✨🤍 (recommended if you like sparkle)

Of the two, we went with the cleaner-looking Amelia 🌟

Which finger for a friendship ring? Sizing for the index finger

Couple rings go on the ring finger!! Ours are friendship rings, so we tried them on and measured for the index finger. I was unsure about the size, and the Robenta staff kindly recommended one for me 😆

Robenta Seongsu plating and engraving options

18k plating option: ₩20,000

The 18k plating option comes in white, black, gold and rose. I didn't pick plating myself, but if you have a color of rings or accessories you usually wear, it seems like a really good option,, 🩵 (a truly quality workshop 👍,,,)

Lettering engraving: ₩10,000, free with a Naver review

For ₩10,000 extra you can add an engraving of up to 8 characters (Korean, English or symbols), and I got the engraving service by writing a Naver review 🩷

Is making a ring at a Seongsu ring workshop difficult?

They give you gloves too haha (ready to go)

Think of it as working only on the lower part of the design. What we do is sand the ring, gradually smoothing and polishing it with various tools :)

It was easier than I expected~ The instructor explained everything step by step, checked the parts I'd missed and helped out ☺️ (and was generous with praise too ☺️🩵)

There's a phone stand, so I recorded a timelapse too. I think it would make a great keepsake for couples 📸

Tips for handpiece polishing your ring

And finally the handpiece polishing!!! A tip for the handpiece: brace your hand with your ring finger and you can work steadily ✨ 🍯

The lumpy, ugly ring had become fairly smooth (so proud). The final finishing we leave to the professionals haha

While we worked, my friend and I talked about old times and took photos, and we had a really fun time. We have lots of memories from 10 years together, but making friendship rings ourselves was a first, so it felt even more special.

How long does finishing take? Pickup after about 1 hour

They said Robenta Seongsu's finishing work takes about an hour, so we spent the time wandering the streets of Seongsu and having a meal!! Finished rings can also be delivered by courier 📦

We got a phone call an hour later and went to pick them up, and they had prepared a pretty case and a Polaroid photo for us 🤍

I tried on the finished friendship ring and loved it haha. The sparkling moissanite diamond of the Amelia stood out even more on the hand. My friend was happy with the result too, and we kept staring at our hands. It was much prettier in person than in photos :)

Instead of a shopping bag, they gave us a small bag along with the ring case. So cute 🥹🥹

Is Robenta Seongsu worth it for friendship rings?

If you want to make a special memory in Seongsu, I totally recommend Robenta Seongsu! A ring you made yourself feels more meaningful, and I think you'll get attached to it. If you're thinking about friendship rings or couple rings like I was, give Robenta in Seongsu a visit. Thanks to the kind explanations and the satisfying quality, I had a lovely time.
