Unlimited sashimi and soju night in Bangi-dong: Doran Honsul Bar

Where is Doran Honsul Bar Jamsil Branch, and what are its hours?

I visited Doran Jamsil Branch, a solo bar in Bangi-dong located on the 3rd floor of 10 Ogeum-ro 13-gil, Songpa-gu, Seoul. You can reach it from Jamsil Station Exit 10 or Songpanaru Station Exit 2, so it's an easy Jamsil solo bar to get to by subway lines 2, 8, and 9. There's no dedicated parking lot, but you can use a nearby paid private lot — the closest one is Seobong Building at 10 Ogeum-ro 15-gil, Songpa-gu, Seoul. Pets are welcome too, and it's open from 7pm to 4am the next day, so it's a Bangi-dong bar you can hang out at until late.

How does the 8pm flounder party work?

The day I visited happened to be a flounder party night starting at 8pm. It's an unlimited party where you can enjoy flounder sashimi, soju, and highballs freely, run on a reservation basis for 15 men and 15 women, so you're guaranteed a certain headcount for this solo bar party. From 11pm, walk-ins are also allowed, so even if you didn't reserve, you can join a party that already has a decent crowd — a great option if you want to meet people, so it's worth visiting on a day when this kind of party is happening.

Since it was flounder party day, each table was already set with personal chopsticks, soy sauce, and vinegar-chili sauce. There were also simple snacks like chocolate and jelly to keep you from getting bored while waiting, so it was nice to nibble on something before the food arrived :)

Finally, the first plate of flounder sashimi arrived! It's fresh flounder sliced right at the bar, and the quality was better than I expected. It came with wasabi, radish sprouts, and baek-kimchi (white kimchi), so you could dress it up however you liked, and the non-alcoholic highballs were also unlimited, so even non-drinkers like me could enjoy the party mood without pressure — a nice touch for this Bangi-dong solo bar.

Is Doran Honsul Bar easy to visit alone?

At first we all clinked glasses of highball together, chatted, and naturally got to know each other :) Then the owner brought out cold soju straight from the fridge, and after that everyone drank at their own pace. The people at the party that day ranged from early 20s to late 20s and even 30s. Usually when I go to solo bars, most people come with friends and stick to their own groups, but this time quite a few people came alone, so instead of cliquish groups, everyone chatted and mingled together naturally, which I liked even more.

The owner prepared a whopping six whole flounder, so there was plenty of sashimi and we could eat generously until we were completely full.

Once our stomachs were somewhat full and the drinks had kicked in, the owner ran a fun game. First place got a shot of vodka served on the house, and last place had to drink a penalty shot, so it actually got competitive hahahaha.

After finishing all the sashimi, we chatted away while snacking on Doran's house snack, chicken drumstick-shaped crackers. Even though we were full, they were salty and crunchy enough that our hands kept reaching for more lol, and in the end we polished off the whole bowl hahaha.

It's a solo bar where unlimited parties like this run, so even visiting alone isn't boring, and you can naturally mingle with new people, which I really liked :) And apparently there's a yukhoe (raw beef) party coming up on August 29, so if you missed the flounder party, that one might be worth checking out!
