Prefers Diet Food Samseong: location and opening hours
Prefers Diet Food is what comes to mind when I think of good-value salad! This time I went to the newly opened Samseong branch for a solo meal in Samseong.
It's at 33 Teheran-ro 87-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on the first floor, and the green sign stands out, so it was easy to find. There's no parking, but it's about a 7-minute walk from Samseong Station Exit 5, so it's easy to reach by public transit, and a bus stop is close by too. It's open from 9 AM to 9 PM with no break time, so this Samseong Station salad spot works whenever you're hungry.

When is the lunch peak? 11:30 AM–12:30 PM is nearly full
I came at lunchtime, and from 11:30 to 12:30 it was peak time and almost completely full. If you're planning a solo lunch, keep that window in mind.
Even though it was packed, the staff were all so kind! They were busy, but they greeted every single customer brightly without any hint of irritation, which I really appreciated T_T

3 kiosks, bar table for solo diners and 2-person tables
There were 3 kiosks, and personally I think it would be easier if there were a queue line for them. Around 12:30 the crowd cleared out all at once, and after that I could eat in the shop at a relaxed pace.
There's a bar table that's great for eating alone and lots of 2-person tables, which can be pushed together, so this Samseong Station salad spot is also good for a group lunch.

₩1,000 off every menu item, and what's on the menu
There's currently a ₩1,000 discount on every menu item, so it was a bit cheaper than usual. The cheapest item starts at ₩6,900, making this a good-value Samseong Station salad spot.
Beyond salads, the menu has pasta, rice bowls, curry, cob plates, fat-free Greek yogurt and protein shakes, so it works as a regular meal and not just a diet meal.

There's also a "order 10 times, get 1 free" event, which is worth joining if you're a regular. If you join the Naver receipt review or Google review event, you can get a zero cola or a roasted egg too, which goes nicely with a salad.

I ordered the beef cob plate, and for just ₩1,000 more you can switch the salad to a combo set. You can also add meat, vegetables and sides to taste :)

From ordering to pickup, with self-serve drinks from a dispenser
Once you order, your number appears on a screen in the hall, and when it shows up you go and pick up your food yourself. A staff member also double-checked my receipt carefully, so there was no mix-up and I got exactly what I ordered :)
For drinks, you use the cup that comes on your tray and pour from the dispenser as much as you like.

The 32g protein shake, drunk in the shop
I figured lunchtime would mean a long wait, so I ordered takeout, but it came out faster than expected. It was so hot out that I drank the protein shake right there in the shop, nice and cold. It has a whopping 32g of protein, plus fat-free milk and banana, so it's filling enough to be a full meal.
It was so good I could come back just for the shake, and there are 4 flavors (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and coffee), so you can pick what you like.

Takeout review: beef cob plate and fat-free Greek yogurt
I took the beef cob plate and fat-free Greek yogurt to go. The granola and agave syrup were packed separately, so I could enjoy them at home without them going soggy.
The beef cob plate isn't just salad: it comes with bell pepper, broccoli, onion and sweet corn, so the textures were rich, and the beef was more generous than I expected, so it was filling too.

When I worked at a daycare center, I often ate standing up while watching the kids, or ate cold rice, so I was so jealous of office workers' lunch breaks. But now that I'm here, I see office workers are struggling through their short lunch hours too T_T Office workers, students, homemakers, everyone, hang in there~!~!~!
