Why I booked a Korean head spa at Yerideu Hair in Myeongdong

Maybe it's the fall weather... but my scalp got so itchy that even after washing my hair I kept scratching it, to the point people thought I hadn't washed it at all. I was scratching so much I felt like it might start bleeding. I figured it was time for real care, so I went to Yerideu in Myeongdong for a head spa.

Yerideu is about a 3-minute walk from Exit 9 of Myeongdong Station, so it wasn't hard to find — even someone as directionally challenged as me got there easily.

The interior was clean and tidy overall. What I liked especially was that the head spa area is a separate, dedicated space.

Scalp check before the treatment: flaking, itching and sores

Before the real treatment started, they checked my scalp condition first. I'm usually pretty itchy and had been doing some exfoliation care at home fairly consistently. But once they actually examined my scalp closely, there was more flaking than I expected, ugh. Especially in the spots I scratched most, there were sores that had bled — that surprised me a bit!.. I never really get to look at my scalp closely in a mirror normally, so seeing it up close like this made me realize it was in worse shape than I thought...

What happens in the 18 Step Scalp Treatment at Yerideu Hair

The treatment I received was done entirely by one stylist, from start to finish. With 18 steps, it could get a bit stressful if the person kept changing partway through, but having one person handle everything made it feel comfortable and steady.

She explained each step carefully so I understood exactly what kind of care I was getting at every moment. And most of all, it felt amazing! She worked through my scalp thoroughly, and even the spots that were usually itchy got such a refreshing, cooling treatment. Lying there comfortably in the quiet space getting that cool scalp care, at some point I felt myself relax completely — it genuinely felt like healing.

I got to directly compare my scalp before and after the treatment. Looking at the before-and-after photos, my scalp was noticeably cleaner and tidier afterward — very satisfying. Not just my scalp but my hair itself felt more settled and healthier, and my whole look seemed different once the treatment was done. My face looked brighter too, and the puffiness seemed to have gone down, which made the before-and-after difference feel even bigger!

At the very end, they finished with a neat blow-dry. Since I walked out with my hair already styled after the head spa, I didn't need to do anything else — that was an extra bonus. With my scalp feeling refreshed, my hair looking better, and a finished blow-dry on top, I thought this would be perfect to get before an important appointment or gathering. Personally, I'd want this as a go-to treatment whenever I need to take care of both scalp and hair at once before a big day.
