Black soybean powder for breakfast: Garu Seonsaeng Fresh Soy Milk
In short
Garu Seonsaeng Fresh Soy Milk Seoritae is an unsweetened black soybean powder product I tried at home in Korea as a breakfast substitute. Mixed with 180 ml of milk, it dissolved better than expected and tasted nutty; although powder settled as I drank it, it did not feel chalky through the last sip.

I received this product for review. I gathered how I mixed and tasted Garu Seonsaeng Fresh Soy Milk Seoritae at home as a breakfast substitute.

What ingredients are in this powdered soy milk?
Garu Seonsaeng Fresh Soy Milk Seoritae is an unsweetened powdered product in a 500 g package. Its ingredients are 99.3% Korean seoritae black soybeans and Korean sun-dried sea salt.

I often drink soy milk to include plant-based protein in my diet. I check ingredient lists when choosing foods, and I liked that this product has a simple composition.

It is said to contain whole Korean seoritae black soybeans, including their skins. Because it is powdered, I could mix it to my preferred thickness, which made it easy to have in the morning.

At home, I had it not only as a breakfast substitute but also as a snack for my child. My child drank it well too, which made me want to keep buying it.

Seoritae black soybeans have black skins and greenish interiors, and I could see that distinctive greenish tint in this product too.

How much did I add to water or milk?
Add about one to two included scoops to a glass of water or milk, then adjust the thickness to your preference. It was easy to mix and drink even on busy mornings.

I drank it with about one and a half scoops of powder in 180 ml of milk. By adjusting the amount of powder, I could make it either thick or smooth, and the mixed soy milk had a jade-green color.

I added the powder to milk and gave it a light shake, and it dissolved better than expected. When I added a little honey for my child, my child said it was tasty and drank it well.

How were the bean smell and powdery texture?
Although I do not usually enjoy beans themselves, I did not notice their characteristic smell. Mixed with milk, it was smooth and nutty, which suited my taste.

As I drank it, powder settled at the bottom. I worried that the last sip might catch in my mouth or throat or feel chalky, but it remained nutty and smooth through the end.

The powdered format, which lets me mix only as much as I want, was especially convenient. The original post also suggested kongguksu (cold soybean noodle soup) and soy milk lattes, while I consistently drank it mixed with milk as a breakfast substitute.
