Before our yacht proposal photos, I booked an updo blowout at Beorn Hair Cheongdam (비오른헤어 청담점), a hair salon in Cheongdam near Gangnamgu-cheong Station. Today was a really special day in my life. Long hair with no volume: back-combing to lift the roots

My before hair was long and stuck flat to the scalp, with almost no volume. It never bothered me day to day, but when the designer started working on it, I realized just how flat it had been against my head.

I really felt how important hair volume is to a person's impression. She back-combed to build volume from the roots, and even that alone made such a difference, and I was surprised at how much prettier it looked. I was so grateful she'd learned a technique like this.

Does the updo hold up on a yacht shoot?

The Beorn Hair updo was secured with hair ties, pins and plenty of hairspray, and it lasted until I got home in the evening. Since I'd be taking photos on the yacht, I told her I wanted strong hold. The designer used lots of hair ties and pins to tie it tight and sprayed plenty of hairspray, so it stayed put until I got home, about an hour and a half away that evening.

They also gave me a cold drink and some snacks. I was so wound up preparing for the proposal that I hadn't eaten, so it was a nice sugar boost.

How the side hair and wisps were detailed

For the Beorn Hair Cheongdam updo, the side hair and loose strands are shaped with a curling iron and then set with spray. Having a Cheongdam salon do my hair, the side detailing was clearly different even for a simple tie-up. They styled the sides cutely too, and sprayed lots of hairspray while I wore a face shield.

This is my proposal-day hair, finished at the Gangnamgu-cheong Station hair salon. So cute, right? The strands falling down the back of the updo were detailed with a curling iron too, so in person it looks really polished.

After the proposal, when I let my hair down

Thanks to the updo at Beorn Hair, I could propose with really pretty hair, and afterward we took Life Four Cuts photos (a Korean photo-booth strip), which I think came out the best of my whole life.

At home I took my hair down, and wow, the waves were still in it and the volume was alive, so even my down hair looked so pretty. It looked good just let loose. Thank you so much for making my proposal-day style so beautiful.
