Every time the seasons change I end up sorting out my closet, and tidying up my hairstyle feels just as important. Once the weather starts getting hot, my hair somehow looks drier and harder to manage, and I start worrying. Not long ago I made my second visit to my regular salon, Beorn Hair Cheongdam (비오른헤어 청담점). Every time I go, I'm happy with everything from the location to the service, so I really wanted to record it in my daily diary.

How does parking work at Beorn Hair Cheongdam?

Beorn Hair Cheongdam has a valet parking service, so you don't have to worry about parking if you drive. This salon near Gangnam-gu Office Station has the advantage of being in Cheongdam-dong, and thanks to the valet, the thing that worries me most when driving, parking, is genuinely easy.

In my busy life, going to a salon usually starts with parking stress, but Beorn Hair puts me at ease right from the start. The smiles of the staff greeting me as I walked in got my day off to a good start again.

Why did I get a clinic when I had booked a magic setting perm?

Because the head designer at Beorn Hair Cheongdam looked at my hair and said a magic setting perm now could damage and break it further, and recommended a clinic instead. The photo shows my hair before the treatment.

I had actually booked a magic setting perm for this visit. I'd been so happy when I brought my son in for a perm last time, so this time I came expecting a transformation of my own hair. What are the steps of the clinic at Beorn Hair Cheongdam?

The clinic at Beorn Hair Cheongdam had 4 steps after the shampoo: moisture protein, oil protein, inner hair coating and outer hair coating, with heat treatment at every step. It really is a systematic clinic.

Steps 1–2: Filling in moisture protein and oil protein

First, after a shampoo to cleanly remove residue and impurities from my hair, step 1 filled it with moisture protein. Its particles are small and tight so it absorbs well, but since it can slip back out, they carefully applied heat treatment too. Then they added moisture with a water spray and moved on to step 2, oil protein. This one has slightly larger, firmer particles, and they used a moisture mist to add heat and lock the moisture in fully.

Steps 3–4: Inner coating and outer coating

Step 3 was the inner hair coating, sealing the inside of the hair once more so the moisture and oil protein we'd filled in wouldn't escape. The final step 4 was the outer coating, coating the surface of the cuticle layer on the outside of the hair to make the thinned cuticle thick and healthy. Because they carefully applied heat after every single step, I could feel the nutrients soaking into my hair.

How were the head spa and the waiting time?

The clinic at Beorn Hair Cheongdam ended with a head spa in a massage chair, and this part really got me. Leaving my body to the massage chair while getting the spa was a true healing time. It felt like all the fatigue of daily life melted away.

Sitting for hours at a salon often wears me out, but Beorn Hair doesn't take too long while still giving thorough care, which I think suits busy modern people. And with snacks offered here and there, I never had time to get hungry.

How did my hair change after the clinic?

After the clinic at Beorn Hair Cheongdam, when they blow-dried my hair rolling it backward, the curls came back far more bouncy and shiny than before. I was really surprised when they dried my hair after everything was done. With my hair glowing, even my face looked brighter.

They say a clinic is best every 2 weeks, but with my busy schedule I plan to visit once a month and take good care of my hair.

Can kids get a haircut at the same time?

My son, who came along to Beorn Hair Cheongdam that day, also got a summer cut from the same designer. She cut it neat and cool, and it brought out his good looks even more. With the summer makeover a success, both my son and I felt great.
