What is Peer a Peer, the Jillye factory café?

Peer a Peer (피어어피어) is a large 2,000-pyeong café in Jillye, Gimhae, started inside a 40-year-old factory. It's a stay-and-linger cultural space where you can slowly experience coffee and bakery goods alongside books, exhibitions and performances all in one place.

The name 'Peer a Peer' carries the meaning that some things only appear once you stay and look closely.

It's a beautiful space visually, but the café also aims to be somewhere you can linger long enough to discover new tastes and inspiration.

Bakery lineup and Momos coffee beans at Peer a Peer

Peer a Peer's baked goods run wide — from salt bread to egg tarts, ciabatta, 64-layer milk bread and croissants.

Inside the refrigerated showcase there are also slice cakes and brownies.

Peer a Peer, this Gimhae café, uses Momos Coffee from Busan, known for its great beans. Take part in the Naver review event and you get a free mini muffin.

We visited after lunch and the inside was packed with customers, with exhibition pieces scattered throughout.

Matcha einspänner and nutty cream latte, 7,000 won each

We ordered two of Peer a Peer's signature drinks. The Matcha Suffner (₩7,000) layers matcha cream over a strong cold brew, giving you both bitterness and smoothness in one signature drink. The Coco Cream Latte (₩7,000) is finished with whole sesame seeds, sesame oil and a strong espresso, coming out smooth yet nutty. Both signature drinks catch your eye the moment they arrive.

Matcha lovers absolutely must try the Matcha Suffner! The smooth, densely packed matcha cream — bitter yet creamy — pairs perfectly with the strong cold brew.

Egg pie tart, 5,300 won: the dessert my child finished

The Egg Pie Tart (₩5,300) is crisp on the outside with the first bite, soft and moist inside. Vanilla bean specks are studded through the soft cream. It's palm-sized, so it's perfect for anyone who finds regular egg tarts too small.

Our youngest said it was so good she let me have just one bite before finishing off the whole thing herself. Tasty dessert, and it's clearly a popular menu item for a reason.

Lemon meringue croissant, 6,500 won

Peer a Peer's signature item, the Lemon Meringue Croissant, ₩6,500.

Sweet and chewy on the outside, packed with tangy-sweet lemon cream inside — it's delicious enough that it's clearly become Peer a Peer's signature item. Highly recommend trying it if you visit^^

Both the drinks and the bakery items were so good that Peer a Peer is a café I'd love to visit again.

Small library, exhibition and performance hall, and photo zone

Inside Peer a Peer there's a small library space where you can quietly read, stocked with a variety of books.

There's also an exhibition and performance space where you can encounter artists' work and shows, plus a photo zone where anyone can capture their own scene. Reading the artwork explanations on the posters on the wall gives you a different feeling than your first impression. On nice weather days, it's also lovely to have a coffee at the outdoor tables while taking in nature.

Pets and parking at Peer a Peer

Pets can't come inside, but they're welcome to relax with you at the outdoor tables.

There's a dedicated parking lot with free parking for up to 100 cars.

A Gimhae drive-café for when you need quiet healing time, good for meeting friends or a date. A Gimhae bakery café that's easy to visit casually with family in everyday life. Being near Clayarch, it's a great large Gimhae Jillye café to pair with browsing Jillye pottery while enjoying good coffee.
