Peer a Peer in Jillye, Gimhae: the autumn pampas grass photo zone

I finally made it to Peer a Peer, a large café in Jangyu I'd wanted to visit for ages. In spring it's famous for its daisies, but right now it's dressed up for autumn with a pampas grass photo zone and it was so, so pretty.

With the breeze getting gentle this time of year, it's a great spot to enjoy coffee with your dog in the outdoor garden, take photos at the pampas zone, and eat bakery goods inside :) My son loved it here, and there were a lot of families around. Let me tell you how it went.

Inside a 2,000-pyeong converted factory: where Peer a Peer is and where to park

Located in Jillye, Gimhae, Peer a Peer is close to both the Clayarch Gimhae Museum and Lotte Premium Outlets, so it's easy to combine with a visit there :) The parking lot is huge, which made getting there easy — and wow, it really is a popular café that draws crowds.

The whole site is 2,000 pyeong, so there's zero sense of being cramped — that's the charm of a large café. It used to be a factory, converted into a café, so the space is enormous. Think of it as a cultural space filled with exhibitions inside.

Even just stepping into the outdoor space, it was too pretty to walk past. I thought about having coffee outside, but it was still a bit warm, so we decided to go inside instead.

From the Peer a Peer bakery I picked the 61-layer square milk bread and the shine muscat yogurt cake. There was so much delicious bread that it was hard to decide what to eat. My son loves cake, so we picked the shine muscat yogurt cake, and we also got the 61-layer square milk bread — and this bread was seriously delicious.

Since it's a bakery that bakes everything in-house, the care really shows. I heard the salt bread and ciabatta are their most popular items, but after tasting the milk bread I wanted to try everything else too — the quality was that good.

How roomy is the indoor seating at Peer a Peer?

The interior space at Peer a Peer was excellent too. The ceilings are extremely high and the space is huge, so it's a roomy large café to relax in in Gimhae.

There were tons of customers, from groups to solo visitors, but the sound didn't echo and the tables were well spaced, making it a comfortable place to properly relax.

It was also fun spotting the art pieces displayed throughout the space. It's hard to find time to go see an exhibition, but here I got to see art and enjoy coffee at the same time — pretty satisfying, right?

How do the autumn chestnut latte and café latte taste?

Our order arrived. The autumn chestnut latte, popular this season, and my all-time favorite, café latte. The lattes were really great — rich milk, nutty coffee. The chestnut latte was packed with seasonal chestnuts, so it was rich, nutty, and had it all.

The drinks were satisfying, but the bakery was the highlight, haha. The milk bread was so good that my son said to bring him back to this café next time, calling it "the best bread of any café" haha.

The cat shelter outside, where kids gather

Not on the pampas grass side, but in the outdoor space across from it, cats are living haha. Doesn't seem like the café keeps them officially, but someone set up a cat tower and beds so the cats could be comfortable. So many kids were there watching the cute cats — it was a real hotspot haha.

How could we not take photos at the pampas grass photo zone? With full autumn vibes in front of the pampas, I snapped some photos and thoroughly enjoyed the desserts and drinks — that was my report on Peer a Peer, a large café in Gimhae. 100% would visit again.
