Gangnam Station bakery with outlets and 7 salt breads: Bakerist Brown
In short
Bakerist Brown is a bakery café near Gangnam Station in Seoul, set in a standalone red brick building in the alley behind CGV, with seating from basement level 1 up to the 3rd floor. On a weekday afternoon visit, after a look around the basement, 2nd and 3rd floors, the high-ceilinged 3rd floor was the pick for an iced café latte switched to oat milk, a black sesame latte and a sand cookie; an Americano costs ₩6,500 and a café latte ₩7,000. I went to Bakerist Brown (베이커스트 브라운), a bakery café in an alley near the CGV at Gangnam Station that's easy to find, to have some coffee and spend a little time. It's a standalone building with plenty of tables in the basement, on the 2nd floor and on the 3rd floor, so even on a weekday afternoon it was easy to get a seat.
Location and exterior of Bakerist Brown
Walk a little way down the alley behind the Gangnam Station CGV and you'll spot the red brick building of Bakerist Brown. There are outdoor tables on the 1st floor too, so when the weather is cool and clear you can sit outside.
The entrance is half a flight of stairs up, and there's no elevator inside. The 1st floor has no tables, so you head up or down the inner stairs to the seating areas.
1st-floor bread display and coffee bar
Step inside the 1st floor and the first thing you see is a big display of all kinds of bread. There's a coffee bar, merch like T-shirts on display, and some chairs where you can sit and wait for takeout orders.

Bakerist Brown menu and prices
Here are the menu and prices at this Gangnam bakery café. Drinks run in the ₩6,000–8,000 range, with an Americano at ₩6,500 and a café latte at ₩7,000, and I liked that there are options like decaf and oat milk.

Mango bingsu (shaved ice) was on sale as a seasonal menu item. In the refrigerated case right next to it were cookie sands in 8 flavors, plus cakes and desserts like peach pavlova, mango croissant and pistachio mugwort crumble.

Seven kinds of salt bread, and other breads
The bread selection is really varied, so I had a look around. I thought it was fun that there are 7 kinds of salt bread (a buttery roll with a salted base) beyond the plain one, including melon, crème brûlée and mango "wakppu" salt bread, and there was a ton of other tasty-looking bread too: egg tarts, pain au chocolat, croissants, basil cream cheese twist pastry loaves and more.

With so many breads and desserts on sale, Bakerist Brown is also a good place to come for brunch with coffee. I hear you can get one free sand cookie if you join the Naver receipt review event.
Comparing the basement, 2nd and 3rd floors
Basement level
While my coffee and sand cookie were being prepared, I looked around the café's seating. I went down to the basement first. It feels like a semi-basement, so there are some windows and it wasn't too dark, which was fine. Quite a few people were down here too.
2nd floor
The 2nd floor was the busiest. It has big windows with good natural light and is reasonably spacious, and it had the most people with no empty seats. There are several tables for 2 to 4 people.
3rd floor
One more flight up is the 3rd floor, calmer than the 2nd and good for relaxing. The ceiling is high and, being the top floor, it felt a little warm, but it was still comfortable, so this is where I settled in.

On one side there's a separate large table area, and toward the back there are cozy tables too. Some seats have outlets, and around the café I saw people reading alone or working on laptops.
Oat milk iced café latte and black sesame latte
Here's what I ordered at Bakerist Brown that day: an iced café latte switched to oat milk, a black sesame latte and a sand cookie.

The coffee was nutty and good. The black sesame latte is on the sweet side, so if you like sweet coffee, give it a try. The yellow sand cookie tasted like a Kukhui peanut sand (a classic Korean peanut sandwich cookie).

There are separate men's and women's restrooms inside the café, so that's convenient. With its easy location in the alley near the Gangnam Station CGV and its wide range of bread, I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to spend some relaxed time.
