Where is Bored & Hungry Mapo and when is it open?

Bored & Hungry Mapo is a handmade burger restaurant very close to Daeheung Station. Being right by the station, it seems like a handy spot for the college students nearby, too.

It is open daily 11:00–20:50, with a break time of 15:50–17:00 and last orders at 15:10 and 20:10.

Here's how it looks from outside! It's on the first floor, and the roomy, wide layout feels open. The colors are bright and colorful, so it's easy to spot from far away.

The inside has plenty of seats too. I came just before the break time, when everyone had cleared out, so I could take photos, but when I came back in the evening it was packed.

How to order, burger prices and Burger Week

You order via QR code, and burgers are around ₩10,000, which is good value. I visited during Burger Week, so the burgers were on promotion and even better value. Since Burger Week is on now, I recommend dropping by!

At the self bar you can grab whatever cutlery and sauces you want, which was convenient. It was also neatly organized, which I liked even more.

Ordering the Triple Burger, basic fries and beer

I ordered the triple burger with basic fries added, plus a beer. The food came out really fast and they brought it to my seat, which was so convenient.

1+1 beer after 5pm

If you visit after 5pm, the beer at Bored & Hungry Mapo is 1+1, so it's a great-value way to enjoy it. The beer was cold and thick and tasty. On a hot day like these, beer and a burger sounds like a perfect combo.

How does the three-patty Triple Burger taste?

The burger is a truffle patty burger. With three patties it's seriously hefty, but it isn't smelly or overwhelming, and it was clean, not greasy, and so good. There wasn't even a hint of gamey smell from the meat. Some places with that smell get tiring and put you off, but not here, and the portion is generous, so it's super filling.

The cheese was nicely melted and so good. The seasoning isn't strong, and it goes well with the bun, so it all worked together nicely.

I shared it, eating just half, and I was still crazy full! It was so good!! The bun was super moist and chewy, which made the combo with the patties even better, I think.

The caramelized onions were sweet and tasty, and they went so well with the cheese. Handmade burgers can sometimes be a bit salty, but not this one. The seasoning was just right.

Juicy patties and a moist bun made it a really satisfying meal. This Daeheung Station burger place, Bored & Hungry Mapo, is a certified good spot.

Basic fries with Tabasco, paired with beer

The fries at Bored & Hungry Mapo are the basic kind, but they're good value and the portion is generous, so I ended up really full. There were other menu items topped with sauce too, and I think those would go really well with beer. I love Tabasco sauce, so I dipped the fries in it and, of course, it was delicious. Great with beer too!

And the beer, like I said, was cold and thick, just right with a burger. If you're craving a handmade burger, come here!

Who is Bored & Hungry Mapo best for?

Bored & Hungry Mapo has great value, and the patties and sides are good quality too, so it was a really satisfying meal. It's a good place for the college students nearby, and I strongly recommend it to anyone who wants a meal after visiting Gyeongui Line Forest Park.
