Gyodong Naiba Hutto is a yakitori-focused izakaya at Gongpyeong intersection, where Dongseong-ro crosses into Gyodong in Jung-gu, Daegu. Three friends stopped in for a second round and ordered the 7-skewer yakitori and sake-steamed clam set plus mentaiko cream pasta; the smoky charcoal skewers and the refreshing, slightly spicy clam broth stood out. Set one step back from Gyodong's main street, Gyodong Naiba Hutto is quiet, with cozy counter seats, and works well for a date or a second-round drink.

Daegu gopchang pub in Wolseong-dong with a soju lottery: Miso Gopchang

Miso Gopchang Wolseong is a Korean beef gopchang (grilled intestine) pub on Sangwon-ro in Wolseong-dong, Dalseo, Daegu. Two people ordered the Miso Modeum (assorted platter) for 2. The meal included a complimentary abalone clam soup, soju served in an ice bucket, and gopchang, daechang, makchang and beef heart that the staff pre-grilled and cut. Miso Gopchang Wolseong also gave an extra bottle of soju for a 3rd-prize win in its nostalgic lottery draw. For a Wolseong-dong pub where the staff handle the pre-grilling and trimming so you can eat with ease, Miso Gopchang Wolseong is worth recommending.
