An Italian restaurant in Dongseong-ro for a full-term brunch

There are exactly 4 days left until my due date! Eek 👶 Now that I’m full-term, I can only really enjoy one or two tasty meals a day, so I’ve been making the most of this precious time lately... Some of my neighbors told me to eat lots now because eating gets hard after giving birth, so I’m diligently eating each day with careful choices and total focus haha.

Since yesterday, I couldn’t stop thinking about Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch (다나 동성로본점), so I raced over to Dongseong-ro for brunch ~~ haha. Today’s brunch was another huge success, so let me tell you all about it 💕

Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch location and visitor information

It’s in the heart of Dongseong-ro, 272 m from Exit 10 of Banwoldang Station. It is open daily from 11:30 to 22:00, with a break from 15:30 to 17:00 and last orders at 21:00.

There is no dedicated parking, so please use a nearby paid parking lot in Dongseong-ro. High chairs are available, and the restaurant has a two-floor layout. Please make Naver reservations at least one day in advance :) They also say there’s a Naver review event where you receive one side dish of your choice.

Dana is one of Dongseong-ro, Daegu’s signature casual Italian restaurants! Its cozy two-floor atmosphere and full glass windows across the second and third floors give you an open view ^^ They say Dana has been operating since 2017 and is a longtime Dongseong-ro favorite for good-value Italian food >< Apparently, every pasta on the menu is available at the kind price of ₩12,000 haha.

The staff guided us so kindly that I was in a great mood from the moment we walked in +ㅅ+ I’d recommend it for birthdays, dates, blind dates, family get-togethers, friend meetups, or work dinners ~ Looking out through the big windows in today’s especially clear autumn weather was such a healing moment 🍁

• Original bacon shrimp pilaf — ₩14,000
• Vongole pasta — ₩12,500
• Iced Americano — ₩4,000

Flat iron steak cooked through on request

The beef flat iron steak (₩27,000) comes with potato salad, salad, sauce, and grilled mushrooms. They say the steak is first vacuum sous-vide cooked, then seared in natural butter!

For the side dish, you can choose fries or salad; with the salad, you can choose yogurt or balsamic. We chose salad with yogurt dressing ^^* It normally comes medium, but since I’m pregnant, I asked for it to be cooked a little more, and they thoughtfully cooked it through nicely. It was still tender, so delicious, reasonably priced, and very satisfying ><

My top pick: pilaf generously loaded with shrimp

The original bacon shrimp pilaf (₩14,000) is a rice dish stir-fried for great texture in a special sauce, with plenty of large shrimp and bacon! Wow ^^* The fried rice grains were so pleasantly chewy and delicious. The portion was generous too, and especially—they really did not skimp on the shrimp??

From plump large shrimp to little ones, it honestly felt like they had just poured them in to make sure you ate lots haha. It was so delicious. My top pick haha 💕💕💕

Oil-rich vongole and a light Americano

The vongole pasta (₩12,500) is gently sautéed pasta prepared with white wine. But... why is everything at this place so good??? haha. I think we chose every menu item perfectly today haha. Look at all that garlic, and there was plenty of oil too ~ Such a proper treat for my taste buds from the morning; it was so delicious 💕 It went so well with the iced Americano haha.

I asked for the iced Americano (₩4,000) to be light, and it was just clean and nutty without acidity, so it was really, really good with the Italian food we ordered ><

Overall

We went in for the first seating, and just as we were about to enjoy our food thinking it would be quiet today~ groups of moms, couples in their 20s, and larger parties suddenly started pouring in haha. They seemed like regulars—of course, a good restaurant has regulars haha.

It was such a satisfying brunch in every way: flavor, value, the floor-to-ceiling window atmosphere, and kindness 😋 My Tiger Husband said the prices and menu composition were so good that we should come again next time ~:) We are definitely coming back. Highly recommended 💕
