Geumdeungeo Deulanguil Main Branch is a grilled mackerel restaurant on Deulan-ro in Suseong, Daegu. My husband and I ordered two charcoal-oven mackerel set meals with extra mackerel and spicy pork stir-fry; the fish was tender, though a few bones remained. With window and private-room-style seating, a side-dish self-service station, and parking, I thought it could suit a family meal.
Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon branch is an all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu restaurant in Buk-gu, Daegu. I had beef with katsuobushi and sukiyaki broths at dinner, then finished with noodles, egg porridge, and soft-serve ice cream. The beef cream soup and the well-stocked self-service bar stood out most.
Uldong Bossam is a Korean restaurant across from Dongin Office in Jung-gu, Daegu. We shared small bossam and a cheese-topped potato pancake, enjoying the tender fatty pork, freshly ground sesame sauce, and seasonal side dishes, though there is no private parking lot.
